I could really get behind “each side gets to forcibly retire 5 judges, no questions asked,” too. And considering ianal, just the fact I can name 5 judges off the top of my head to nominate is depressing.

“We’ve saved taxpayers $50 million!”
Congrats on ruining lives over expenses equivalent to about half the mechanical pencil budget, dumbasses.

Maybe I’m missing the point, but having married in the Catholic Church, annulment is my only option to become religiously unmarried. I’m ok with the reverse: annulment/get = civil divorce. But I don’t know if I’d have had a religious ceremony if I needed to rely on annulment for a legal split.

You know, I saw that quoted by someone else and assumed there *had* to be context that would make it better. Or at least slightly saner. So I read the thread.
Context makes it worse.

Had to explain to him that, short of not using the service at all, controlling the kindle algorithm in a shared library is just not one of my superpowers.

Hmmm. And here I mentally ended that sentence “dirt cheap.”

I read the KUSK complaint. There should be a word for “homicidally disappointed.”

What bothers me most about all this is while YOU know they can’t and I know the can’t, the ppl who voted for him will be told and believe some bs reason that weaponizes the blame onto immigrants/trans/poc or whoever the boogeyman of the hour might be.

Feels like having “taken constitutional law” becomes less relevant every day.
I’m increasingly convinced the constitution could say “anyone named Sheryl can oust any president named Donald” and SCOTUS would find a way to deny based on a new definition of originalism.

Lmao. I, also, immediately think “uncle rice truck” when I see your posts - which I see so often I assumed I carried over following you here as well. Luckily, I have friends with superb taste who repost you into my feed often and I’ve now rectified my oversight.

Having spent time on both sides of the schism, can confirm. The *literal* bad faith in this argument is jaw-dropping.

For some reason, I can deal with all the other weirdness of that computerized reading well enough. I get there are multiple pronunciations of various words that are context-specific. Nothing is perfect.
But lung-ed? Nope. That is just not a word.
With love,

I haven’t read it bc it’s (thank god) behind a paywall. After Joss, I thought I could never be so shocked/disappointed like that again. I hate everything about this.

Pretty sure I stopped being her favorite that day. That’s the kind of thing someone whose been doing the same thing for 20 years doesn’t like to find out from the chick struggling to keep wo/was/warum/etc. straight. 🤷🏻♀️

When I told her I just went with the second letter to decide? Can I tell you she sat at that table in silence for at least 2 minutes trying to find an example to prove me wrong.
It might not always work, but if you have to guess at a Germanic-based pronunciation, it’s a good start.

How do you weigh the risk of an extra ~30 mins under general anesthesia against potentially having to send an unstable pt home bc insurance was denied? Better yet, WHY should anyone have to? Ugh.

Saw so many MDs horrified that she would scrub out to take the call. Then found out that, in some ins co contracts, peer-to-peer review REQUIRES talking w/doc requesting pre-auth. In those cases, not taking that call, for any reason, is grounds for denying payment.

At this point, I don’t think I’d be shocked to find out we’ve declared war on NZ bc Trump has developed a Haki phobia. Pissed, yes; shocked, not so much.

Today was my twitter check-in day. And I don’t even want to ask how a not-yet-sworn-in-dumbass manages to piss off Mexico, Canada, and Denmark/Greenland.
And that’s just from a brief skim of the trending hashtag “idiot” over there.

To that end, I try not to look at twitter more than once every week or two & I’ve muted some words here. It works pretty well so far. I manage to avoid most of dumbass’s dumbassness & the major stuff always breaks through.

Lmao. It would be entirely 100% my luck if it turned out to mean something like “She was an heinously untalented hooker” instead.
