Sadly while other cities have revamped their tram systems, sadly Kolkota is letting theirs die through neglect. This was a chartered special

In Dubai 6 hour layover on way to Kolkota...soulless place but happily quite empty..A380 flights are like being in a bus

✅ “Interventions to promote active travel (walking and bicycling) have manifold societal benefits… we find strong evidence for wide ranging societal benefits from active transportation interventions that increase public health and transportation system sustainability in cost-effective ways.”

Great night at Loftus Road. Best win of the season for QPR and no doubt Chair was man of the match

Watch out next week for progress on the Great British Railways plan from government

Reeves has clearly made some errors but we are not talking million pound dodgy undeclared loans or parties during lockdown. The BBC coverage seems OTT to me

On an @avantiwestcoast.bsky.social 16 40 train to Coventry...all good so far

Excellent piece which explains why Labour does make a difference but shows how media agenda is skewed bylinetimes.com/2025/01/24/w...

Having just had a prostate op early enough, this article should remind men over 50 to get tested www.thetimes.com/article/6474...

Great event www.networkrailmediacentre.co.uk/news/two-hun...

It is time the Left and liberals generally backed women in this controversy and not a few men behaving badly www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

What a terrible mealy mouthed response. The point is pavement parking could be allowed in specific circumsfances but in general it should be banned

Predictable but pleasing

Does Network Rail not realise that people look at their phones when heading for their train? Stupid patronising measure.

Just drank this and realised its 5 years out of date. Tasted fine but will I die prematurely? It was London Pride brewed during Sadiq's first term

I'll be at Deptford Station tomorrow Friday at 10am at an event marking the opening of the London and Greenwich Railway in 1836.

Join us on our latest rail walk next Tuesday www.eventbrite.com/e/christian-...

This is absolutely key but despite initial support for such ideas Labour has been quiet on this issue

This is unacceptable. Much more investigation needs to be carried out to develop prevention measures www.standard.co.uk/news/transpo...

As I always say, it's politics that brings about change. Look what can be done

Labour’s only hope is to go for broke...and break its promises..put 2p on income tax and more for higher earners, cut VAT to 15 percent, reform council tax and start single market negotiations. Risky but so is more austerity, attacking welfare and forcing councils to cut services

Come on our new railway walk on Feb 11th Tickets via Eventbrite www.eventbrite.com/e/christian-...

My exercise week has been more than usual: 6k run on Monday and 8k on Thursday. 4k interval training (10x round football pitch) on Tues, an hour's boxing and exercises on Weds and two hours of tennis singles on Thurs. About 30 miles cycling round London. Rest today, parkrun tomorrow. Feeling good

Listen tomorrow

Will the lesson be learnt?

Britain has great companies, says Rachel Reeves,' like DeepMind, AstraZeneca, Rolls Royce and Siemen' which respectively are US (Google), half Swedish, Germand and German...Britain has been for sale for a long time resulting in the Chancellor being unable to name a fully British company

Will Ed Miliband resign over Heathrow?

Is this the day Labour lost any claim to the environmental vote?

As for Heathrow, the 3rd runway will never happen. Don't be fooled it is designed to cater for Easyjet, not key business flights to China. But pie in the sky as it will fail on environmental grounds

An insane anachronistic commitment that will never get built and wreck the transport system in the area. www.mylondon.news/news/south-l...

No one calls out statement that 11,000 millionaires have left the country on @bbcradio4.bsky.social , a bullshit statistic made up by a thinktank

Lurgy means missing normal Tuesday evening appointment, so I can tune in live to @activetravelcaf.bsky.social and lo and behold I see Christian Wolmar @christianwolmar.bsky.social , who I first met at my book launch in December 1992. Regular and frequent cycling keeps us oldies going!

For my new followers - and old ones - here's a reminder of my latest book, still available either signed copies from me or from the usual bookshops etc www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNd0...
