I caught a portion of Premier Ford's media update on encampments. Essentially: If a shelter space if offered and declined, folks face arrest. If a treatment space is offered and declined, folks face arrest. It's a downstream and ineffective tool versus offering permanent supportive housing.

Doug hasn’t funded mental health, addictions or housing since 2018. Now he’s going to punish people who are suffering from his lack of funding by “cleaning up encampments with enhanced tools”. It’s going to be terrible.

Week 17 of my new job: Many things are true at once. My brain is throbbing. Everything is absolutley ridiculous and frustrating. I get to work with the most incredible humans. It’s heavy and hard. There is so much unbelievable complexity. I witness true, authentic compassion and care each day.
