Watched the 3rd season of Ginny & Georgia yesterday and I think we have had enough of this show... it can rest now. Though I have hopes for poetry boy and Ginny should it continue on. He made her laugh a lot and was generally fabulous with one brilliant fuck-up unlike neighbor boy who is 50/50.

Will Republicans have the courage to protect the lives of the people they represent? Or, will they strip away health care, food assistance, and close hospitals, all to give tax breaks to billionaires?   Thank you for your questions and your engagement as the fight continues.

Zohran Mamdani is saying things like “poverty is a policy choice and politicians have a duty to their constituents to make their lives affordable” and it is making a lot of politicians very very scared that they may actually have to start doing some actual service in their public service jobs.

I wrote something for Mr. Porter about how to pack for a stylish summer holiday! This is for an international audience, so it doesn't include tips like "carry a burner phone if you've ever made a joke about JD Vance." www.mrporter.com/en-gb/journa...

I feel like I need to start a new hobby of researching really old textbooks that embrace queer joy.

Republicans paint programs they want to cut like the green bank, environmental justice grants, and clean energy incentives as government waste, but these programs create jobs, reduce toxic pollution, and lower energy bills. The real waste? The GOP’s $170 billion giveaway to Big Oil.

Banned Books Week also bothers me every year, lol. CA someone please DO SOME ROOT CAUSE analysis and do more than point out the most challenged books of the year? That entire week should be devoted to recruiting candidates for local school and library boards. Set a goal of recruiting 5000 candidates

The left better start figuring out how to weaponize today's decision rather than just (rightfully) criticizing it. - Go back into Judge Kaczmaryk's court to dissolve all of his nationwide orders. - Pass gun bans and insist any order applies only to plaintiffs.

Happy Caturday 🐈‍⬛🤍

The wild Islamophobic bigotry coming from elected Democrats after Mamdani’s win — Is why Dems can’t beat the “they’re just as racist as republicans” allegations.

Zohran Mamdani’s win has inspired over 3400 young people to raise their hands to run for office just since Tuesday. It’s now @runforsomething.net’s biggest candidate recruitment moment since the election. A new generation of leaders is here.

NYC Comptroller Brad Lander: "I don't think the line for the [Democratic] party right now is between progressives and moderates; I think it's between fighters and folders."

If Jeff Bezos can afford to rent Venice for a $50 million wedding, he can afford to pay his fair share in taxes.

This Interview feature on Zohran Mamdani with 18 questions from regular New Yorkers, Eric Ripert, Cynthia Nixon, Jeremy O. Harris, Julio Torres, plus several magazine staff, is great: www.interviewmagazine.com/culture/18-n...

Sometimes - most of the time - it's the commonplace that brings beauty. Today, a black-capped chickadee. #Birds #BirdPhotography #Nature #Wildlife #Photography #Chickadees #PhotographersOfBluesky

I was thinking about this tonight and ordered Ethiopian food from a place only a couple blocks away that I'd never been to and it's. So. Good. Plus it's so filling I'm going to have enough for probably 4 meals Thanks for getting me to branch out, @tkingfisher.com.

An addled president is shredding the Constitution to usher in white nationalism and fascism while destroying the economy and our health care, so if you’re going to write an alarmist op-ed because a mayoral candidate might open five (5) city-run grocery stores, you can kindly get bent.

probably a good time to bring this back

he's right and he's right to say it

This adult very excited about the upcoming Space Cat book!!

Budzinski: Families making over $700,000 a year will see a boost of $12,000 almost entirely from tax cuts. Shockingly, households making $23,000 a year or less are set to lose about $1600 a year, mostly due to deep cuts to Medicaid and food assistance

BILLIE BUTLER WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Turns out there was a more exciting message than better things aren’t possible

Dear young people, you are allowed to enjoy when horrible people lose for at least a few hours. Revel in it. Tomorrow is soon enough to start picking everything apart. lol.

go watch this movie immediately!

A Muslim son of immigrants might become mayor of NYC in part because he cross endorsed and supported a Jewish candidate and Black candidate, and vice versa. It's a beautiful American story for the rest of us. A nightmare for all the right people ;) It's so New York.

this is a really fabulous headline

Surprisingly effective things Zohran Mamdani ran on: -free buses -rent freeze -halal cart for $8 instead of $10 -taxing the 1% -no cost childcare -city-owned grocery stores -a Department Of Community Safety for mental health programs and crisis response -building affordable housing -why Cuomo sucks

The takeaway is not that electoral politics will fix everything. We know it won’t. Obviously. The takeaway is that people will show up if you give them hope & a way forward. And that, my friends, can & must look like a lot of things right now.

Mamdani should win but he's the latest example of the Democratic Party closing ranks to keep anyone young and exciting and full of energy out of the party - and then they spend countless millions on consultants trying to figure out why they're struggling with young voters

It must be hard living in NYC and having to choose between certified sex pest Andrew Cuomo and the guy who wants to lower your rent, Zohran Mamdani. Tough decision, I’m sure.

See... if you just endorsed vaccines, then you could put the tracking devices in the vaccines. Simple 😃 P.S. yes, this post is dripping with sarcasm because what.the.fuck.

Who needs an #ArtBreak? This painting by Criselda Vásquez has rightfully resurfaced in recent days: art as social dialogue, & all that. "The New American Gothic" (2017, Oil on Canvas) reframes Wood's 1930 classic around the reality of work at the heart of US society. (@crisssvasquez on Instagram)
