If you’re still asking me what my position is on electric vehicles, I’ll probably send you a link to this thread.

Did you know last month was the 25th anniversary of the Walkerton water contamination tragedy? Anyway, sorry, you were saying something about the need to deregulate environmental approvals to "build Canada"..?

AI + misinformation = cheap political spin A weaponized AI chatbot is flooding city councils with climate misinformation www.nationalobserver.com/2025/05/28/i... via @nationalobserver.com "...artificial intelligence 'enables the cost of misinformation to come close to zero.'"

Why are we seeing wildfires already? What causes them? @drewanderson.bsky.social explains:

I voted in favour of Bill 9, Municipal Accountability Act, because it is an important step in the right direction to hold municipal officials accountable for workplace harassment and abuse. I hope the govt listens to Women of Ont Say No on ways to improve the bill at committee. #onpoli

We're 100% behind this message and support our allies at @commonhorizoncommun.org @canrac.bsky.social & @musicdeclarescan.bsky.social. @mark-carney.bsky.social it's time to pick a path and support bold climate action. Go to carneypickapath.ca to join the call.

BREAKING: For years, B.C. has called itself a climate leader. Now, the provincial climate plan is a shambles. By Grand Chief Stewart Phillip, Kai Nagata, Kiki Wood, @drmelissalem.bsky.social, @emikonewman.bsky.social & @traceysaxby.bsky.social. www.timescolonist.com/opinion/comm...

The three Indigenous ministers are all from northern parts of the provinces, in line with plans to develop those regions.

In @nytopinion.nytimes.com Three Yale professors who have written extensively on authoritarianism are leaving the U.S. “We’re like people on the Titanic saying our ship can’t sink,” Marci Shore said. “And what you know as a historian is that there is no such thing as a ship that can’t sink.”

PM Mark Carney's government must pick a path. At a time when there are evacuations in Manitoba and Northern Ontario, it is irresponsible to increase the expansion of volatile, unnecessary fossil fuel projects. 🧵 globalnews.ca/news/1117981...

This story has been updated with new comments from Imperial Metals. The mining company says no injunction has been granted, but that no additional tailings will be deposited until after a judicial review hearing next month.

Alberta premier Danielle Smith and her government are embarking on what you might call a live-ammunition exercise, and one that could quickly get out of hand, @davidmoscrop.com writes

#MapleMAGA disinformation seller Andrew Scheer’s #ConservativeMath Vs #RealMath Hope more reporters do what CBC reporter @davidwcochrane.bsky.social does on Andrew Scheers disinformation, fact checking the disinformation versus enabling it by silence and complicity #cdnpoli

Lessons flow from stories. A big story at the heart of this election was Poilievre’s transformation of his party into a vehicle for the global far-right, writes @arnokopecky.bsky.social

At this point, Trump admin is just relaying Ru demands rather than behaving as a mediator or a leader. “The US has demanded control of a crucial pipeline in Ukraine used to send Russian gas to Europe, according to reports, in a move described as a colonial shakedown. apple.news/AfogjxQp3Sfm...

Disgraced Conservative candidate Aaron Gunn plagiarized his letter saying he's not a residential school denier. His spokesman gave the identical statement when Gunn was called out in 2024. 2024 Source: tnc.news/2024/07/11/s... 2025 Source: globalnews.ca/news/1111756...

In addition to his residential school tweets, Gunn was criticized for posts like the “gender pay gap doesn’t exist" and systemic racism is a "myth." Gunn is also critical of diversity hiring in the military, suggesting “apparently white males need not apply.” (70% of Canadian military is white men.)

If “capitalists” were acting even close to rationally, they would be taking this incredibly seriously.

First Nations leaders on Vancouver Island are urging Pierre Poilievre to ditch an influential candidate, Aaron Gunn, over his statements on residential schools and more. Others, including political leaders, have joined the fray.

Tonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back. This was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008. Also bigger than the 2024 DNC. And the largest ever rally in Bernie’s career (and obviously, mine too).

We need facts as never before. 3 years after Putin invaded Ukraine, I spent 24 hours with combat medics on the Ukrainian frontline. Their courage, compassion, dedication & skill are astounding. Please read & please never stop standing up for Ukraine. 🇺🇦 www.theguardian.com/world/2025/f...

Here I react to the shameful encounter between American leaders and media and the Ukrainian president. No doubt there were more, but I saw five failures on our side: of hospitality, decency, democracy, strategy, and independence. Please watch and share. snyder.substack.com/p/five-failu...

The climate crisis is unprecedented—we can’t afford to ignore it. Tackling the climate crisis isn’t just about the planet, it’s about people: warmer homes, lower bills, and a brighter future. The government must step up and lead.
