Today's #comics is "Grendel: Devil by the Deed" by Matt Wagner The rise and fall of Hunter Rose, the criminal known as Grendel. How he took over the crime world and let his one weakness grow inside his own home, planting the seed of his destruction. #comicbooks thatscomics.com/2025/04/02/g...

I rewatched Park Chan-wook's Joint Security Area (2000) after so many years. It's still a solid mystery movie with good ideas, an interesting setting, and a great cast, but it now feels like a minor movie compared to what Park directed after that. #filmsky www.cinematicpanic.com/joint-securi...

I watched Seaon 2 of #Silo and was not convinced by it. It mostly felt like it had little to tell and ended up looking like a set up for S3, like a long epilogue of S1. Not my type of show. www.cinematicpanic.com/silo-season-...

John Stewart will be in the DCU series #Lanterns. Learn more today about the member of the Lantern Corps created by Dennis O’Neil and Neal Adams! #comics #dc #dccomics #dcu

I wanted to laugh, so I obviously rewatched Clue (1985), the hilarious murder comedy full of comedy legends, iconic quotes, and a lot of dead people, but not a lot of communists for some reason. #filmsky www.cinematicpanic.com/clue-1985-mo...

I watched A Taxi Driver (2017), a great performance by Song Kang-ho, as usual, and a tense exploration of a terrible page from South Korea's history. It's a compelling movie that becomes horrifying when you remember that it is a true story. #filmsky www.cinematicpanic.com/a-taxi-drive...

Today's #comics "March" by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin, and Nate Powell Discovering John Lewis's life from his first encounters with segregation, the nonviolent protests, the Freedom Rides, the Voting Rights Act, and the "Bloody Sunday" attack in Selma. #comicbooks thatscomics.com/2025/03/31/m...

New Month, many new comic book releases! Here's our selection of notable releases for April, highlighting some great stories from members of the Batfamily, sci-fi stories, and an ecological tale. #comics #comicsky www.comicbooktreasury.com/best-comics-...

March 2025 has ended. It's time for the monthly recap of my recent readings. Mostly comic books like Babs, Superman: Kryptonite, the last Sir Edward Grey story, The Shadow, and more; but also the classic sci-fi novel Riverworld: www.cinematicpanic.com/march-2025-m...

I watched Ninotchka (1939) because I had to see Garbo Laughs! Sharp dialogue and great performances; I especially loved Melvyn Douglas in this one. The political aspect of the culture clash romance is also fun in a pleasantly ridiculous way. #filmsky www.cinematicpanic.com/ninotchka-19...

I watched Samjin Company English Class (2020), a nice little feel-good/cozy mystery movie about three underappreciated women fighting the good fight in the 1990s Korean corporate world! Also, they are learning English, and that's the hardest part!!! #filmsky www.cinematicpanic.com/samjin-compa...

I rewatched a little-known movie called Casablanca (1942) about Americans' need to get over themselves (and whatever happened in Paris) and join the fight against fascism. Fuck the Nazis! Always worth a rewatch. #filmsky www.cinematicpanic.com/casablanca-1...

Today's #comics is "Lucifer" by Mike Carey, Peter Gross, and more Lucifer Morningstar left Hell, opened a piano bar in Los Angeles called Lux, and put in motion his plan to prove his free will by rejecting the predestined roles assigned by God and Fate. #comicbooks thatscomics.com/2025/03/28/l...

I watched The Himalayas (2015). I expected a great adventure movie but got a beautiful and touching story about friendship instead. Happy with that, Hwang Jung-min is great as usual. The direction is a bit flat, but it's an emotional ride nonetheless. #filmsky www.cinematicpanic.com/the-himalaya...

I know Bedevilled (2010) has a good reputation, but for me, it is a typical case of muddled intentions, or I misinterpreted smth. It's violent from start to finish, but when things turn bloody, the movie loses its meaning. Also, that ending is trash. #filmsky www.cinematicpanic.com/bedevilled-2...

Today's #comics is The Rocketeer by Dave Stevens Set in 1938, stunt pilot Cliff Secord stumbles upon a mysterious jetpack. He straps the rocket on his back to save a life and becomes known as the mysterious hero. Now, he must fight gangsters and spies. #comicbooks thatscomics.com/2025/03/26/t...

This week on the Comic book news front, a new history of DC Universe, new volumes announced in the DC Finest collection, an interview of Ryan North, a trailer for Shopping for Superman, and more! #comics

I watched Perfect Days (2023), a well-made movie that offers an immersion into a small, uplifting, and unexpectedly comforting world. #filmsky www.cinematicpanic.com/perfect-days...

Today's #comics is "Blacksad" by Juan Díaz Canales and Juanjo Guarnido A great noir comic, the story follows the investigations of hard-boiled private investigator John Blacksad who often finds himself embroiled in dangerous and morally ambiguous cases. #comicbooks thatscomics.com/2025/03/24/b...

Today's #comics is "Berlin" by Jason Lutes During the early 1930s, the story follows Marthe Müller, an art student who moves to Berlin to pursue her passion, and disillusioned journalist Kurt Severing, as the city is unraveling around them. #comicbooks thatscomics.com/2025/03/19/b...

I watched Arctic (2018) for Mads Mikkelsen and he didn't disappoint. Great performance in a pretty solid movie about survival that kept me engaged throughout. #filmsky www.cinematicpanic.com/arctic-2018-...

I watched Il Mare (2000), the Korean time-traveling romance in which Lee Jung-jae and Jun Ji-hyun became pen pals in the strangest way possible. It's a nice little movie that mostly works as a dreamlike meditation on loneliness. #filmsky www.cinematicpanic.com/il-mare-2000...

Today's #comics is "Aâma" by Frederik Peeters Verloc Nim wakes up on a desolate alien planet with a robotic ape named Churchill. He soon learns how he came on a doomed mission to retrieve a mysterious substance called Aâma that could reshape life. #comicbooks thatscomics.com/2025/03/21/a...

I used to like Just Cause (1995) when I was young but I revisited it and it's not good and even a tad problematic. Ed Harris was fun in it as a psycho serial killer, but everything else is missing the point to the level of not having a point at all! #filmsky www.cinematicpanic.com/just-cause-1...

Finished! Took almost a year what with Criminal TV show stuff as well, but the new Criminal OGN is done and will be out in August…

She was a barista on the fun Legend of Tomorrow TV show! Her comic book history is way more complex. #hawgirl #kendrasaunders #comics #dccomics

I watched Dark Nun (2025) an exorcism movie that doesn't reinvent the genre but was pretty entertaining, found a solid story, and is visually interesting. Solid cast too. #filmsky www.cinematicpanic.com/dark-nuns-20...

Fango mourns the passing of Wings Hauser, an absolute titan of genre who elevated everything he appeared in. Our condolences to his family, friends and many fans.

Teaser for next week's trailer... for a PTA movie based on a Pichon novel. Why not! Better tease that than another slop franchise. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9u-2...
