My heart is full of gratitude for everyone who joined the Mayor’s Masked Ball tonight. Together, we raised scholarship funds for underrepresented students attending HBCUs, supported the mission of UNCF, and celebrated the excellence of EWU. Knowledge is power.

We are inspired by the 50 new citizens from 33 different countries who took the oath to become Americans at World of Nations. Jacksonville first welcomed you as immigrants. Our city then welcomed you as citizens yesterday. And together, we will welcome those who come tomorrow.

Always moving and emotional, we were proud to host the Florida Missing Adults Day ceremony at City Hall today. It’s not only a day to ask the public for information in these cases, but to remind those families and loved ones your City stands with you and that there is still hope.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Black History Month celebration at City Hall this morning. Hosted by the Mayor's African American Advisory Board, the moving performances, music, and speeches captured this year's theme of "Empowering Futures by Honoring Legacy." (1/2)

American Heart Month is celebrated each February to raise awareness about heart disease and how to prevent it. Several of our Senior Centers participated in a walk around Ed Austin Park earlier this week to increase awareness and support. Thank you to everyone who participated!

What a beautiful and uplifting tribute to the 125th anniversary of Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing by Jacksonville’s own James Weldon Johnson and John Rosamond Johnson tonight. May we always be united in the spirit of hope and resilience embodied by this powerful hymn.
