These are old screencaps from a Twitter account that no longer exists (but I think might be @schneidremarks.bsky.social?), but remains relevant (doubly so in nerd communities). One of the surreal things about being trans is experiencing this shift in-person.

This katydid from Ecuador has been affectionately named by photographers "candy-cane katydid". The truth is... we are not sure which species it is. One possibility is a Harroweria nymph, but until someone witnesses the transformation into the adult stage it will remain a mystery.

If you have never seen a pre-Code (right-wing Hollywood censorship apparatus) movie, do yourself a favor and watch one like this. You will not believe what they were up to in movies back then. The cut of Clara Bow's dress in this would have been completely verboten just a few years later.

It's ok to argue that AI "isn't good at what it does" but you need to be comfortable with what you'll do/say/feel if you ever get proven wrong. My experience of studying public attitudes to AI creativity for like 15+ years is that the issue is rarely about quality.
