In #WA, working people with the lowest incomes pay a higher percentage of their income in taxes than the wealthiest. That is an upside down tax system because the highest income earners have the most ability to pay what they truly owe so that we can have good public services like schools. #waleg

What if the US Senate consisted of 150 Senators, 3 from each state, elected together by proportional ranked choice voting for 4-year terms? Republicans likely still hold the chamber, but the opposition would be represented in every state and independents might win more seats.

Officials at the FAA have directed staff to identify tens of millions of dollars to fund a Starlink deal for upgrading air traffic control communications. Staff has been instructed to find the funds while minimizing documentation and avoiding a paper trail.

Great again.

Robin Snyder puts out a newsletter a few times a week. It is similar to Heather Cox Richardson but with swearing. Check it out if that fits how you feel about all of this.

Are you Ranked Choice Voting curious? For fun, I had a conversation about RCV with the AI chatbot Grok 3. We went back and forth about a lot of the common issues and Grok brings lots of receipts to back up the reasons why it is a good system and why claims against it fall flat.

These auto insurance related bills are needed to protect vehicle owners against the massive power that the insurance companies currently have to screw over people with no recourse. Even the WA Insurance Commissioner’s office cannot currently make things right if you file a complaint.

The Transit Oriented Development bill is OUT of Appropriations! This bill has never been heard or passed in that committee before and it's a tough year for any bill in approps, so this is a big hurdle overcome! #waleg

Washingtonians work every week of the year round to struggle to earn a living, yet our elected representatives only attend their job for three months, then take a 9 month vacation. Working for the people in our government should be a full time job, not a part-time hobby for the wealthy. #waleg

Musk’s status as a “special government employee” limits him to 130 days in the executive branch. However, despite working daily—documented by his own X posts—they claim he only works one day a week, effectively stretching his limit to 130 weeks. This needs to be brought to Congress—please share.

Liberals, You should be supporting proportional representation. The Liberal Party should have more seats and the #NDP less. (And the Conservatives much less). I say that as a proud member of the NDP. The seats should reflect how people vote. #cdnpoli #onpoli

Musk, Vance & Trump all misrepresent democracy. When they say “democracy”, they mean a free-for-all with no rule of law, where the winner takes all. When Europe says “democracy”, we mean proportional representation, collaborative politics, citizen rights, and agreed guide rails guaranteed by law.

NYC needs to move beyond partisan primaries. Skip the primary all-together and have a single Ranked Choice Voting general election so that all voters get to weigh in on all the candidates. Let all voters vote.

This is a great graphic novel Check it out
