bugs are also fucking cool as hell, drawing bugs sounds legit af

tbh i just wanna draw boobies and weenies for the next 6 months but i'm going to actually try taking this seriously and get better at the things i know i need to understand better, maybe boobies and weenies can be the fun stuff to offset the hard stuff

programming stop, art training arc begin, idk what or how often I'm gonna post but here's a doodle celebrating the act of throwing off the oppressive yoke of gml and opengl

please no they would absolutely fuck this up

im gonna be pissed off someone else came up with this before me and i read it and absorbed it and rediscovered it in my sleep

came up with this joke while waking up 3 mer walk into a bar, the first, a dunmer says "Barkeep, a mug of sujamma, the drink of my people!" Next, a bosmer, snickers and shouts "Barkeep, a glass of the blood of man, the drink of my people!" Not to be outdone the last mer calmly states. "I am dwemer."

from the WWE HoF last night lol

Last night I had to figure out a proper way for putting different kinds of equipment attributes on my game items and then have them apply their stats when put in an equipment slot. A very interesting journey of what’s best for system design doesn’t mirror how you might think something should work.

Last night it took me so long to verbally list every cool thing I’ve done in this project that I got hungry and had to go eat before I could finish

Anyways, I am RAPIDLY approaching the end goals for this prototype. Let me look over my list of stuff to do... NPC, finish up a couple small broken 3d things, journal display, a hefty list of small tasks to flesh out mostly done systems... I might implement the treasure chest I made before too.

The first time someone directly told me NOT to make 3D games in GameMaker with lighting and collision etc. happened recently and not when I started doing this crap 7+ years ago. Okay. I didn't need the warning anyways. I just needed other people to make better tools and time to refine the process.

testing new native res and dialog caption boxes... Someone's watching me, I can tell.

me throwing a bunch of cheddar goldfish into a puddle of poorly stirred natural peanut butter: is this Discontinued Giant Goldfish Peanutbutter Sandwich Crackers?

gamedev is so much harder than you make it out to be in your head, there's so many considerations and just working isn't enough, it also has to feel good, how did I ever get into this?

Quickly making road signs and speech bubbles in Aseprite by pasting slices 🪧

I really need to get my core gameplay systems finished there's not much else stopping me in terms of difficult stuff, just a lot of busywork and little decisions to make

status update new computer replacing 2016 parts, 3d stuff looking good. switched to colmesh and bbmod entirely from a combination of bespoke 3d collision, colmesh, dotobj and bbmod. render pipeline works and pretty much done early prototypes for outdoor features look promising but are not planned

Hank Hill and his buds sitting around the riichi mahjong auto table with cans of chuhai "yuup" "mhm" *3 seconds of silence* "Got dang RIICHI" "Gawdammit not again I just hit i-shanten and we're barely 3 discards into East 3" *unintelligible Boomhauerisms* "RON"
