Flowers from this morning's run.

Models in progress: a very basic but cute Yak-15, and the cockpit and front end of the Rolls-Royce Pegasus engine of a Sea Harrier FA2.

Misty morning at Roodepoort Parkrun. It was Roodepoort's 600th event, but because of the rain, there were only 94 die-hards there. A very muddy and wet course! Dozens of parkruns around the country were cancelled because of the rain.

Red and gold sky, with Venus. Today I'm a king! That's right, the dentist will be crowning me.

Lava skies

Yesterday's sunrise, complete with aerial denizens.

Finished, the CMC Leopard model kit, a 1/72 scale Amodel kit. It's tiny! The plane was a 4-seater passenger jet with two engines, and was significantly smaller than a Me-109 or Cessna 172. It first flew in1988. A nice simple kit, though it didn't fit together well.

Finished, my Focke-Wulf Fw-189 Uhu, a 1/72 scale Italeri kit. This one was in the Winter War, and painted with a whitewash in the winter. The whitewash would wear off or be rubbed off where needed. I also made a base for it, with snowdrifts and snow on bushes, using snow powder and wood glue.

Flowers and stuff from my morning run.

It was a lovely misty morning for parkrun today. I ran my 300th Roodepoort parkrun today (481 total). Next week it's Roodepoort Parkrun's 600th event, so I should have waited a week. 😁

Some obscure pun I'm not aware of, or just someone who can't spell the name of their own business?

Coloured dawn.

Pink Monday.

Jody, 17 years old, dreaming of going for a walk.

Work progressing on my vampire Carpathia and her Persian carpet base.

I'm not quite sure why there was a caravan and tent set up in the park this morning when we did parkrun.

I'm sure the support pole for our carport is not supposed to be pissing water like this. It ran for more than half an hour.

Supper last night. A lovely Van Galen Roquefort cheese and fig preserve on toast, and of course good old cheddar on marmite on the other.

The sun peeking through a tree.

Abby went along to the Vitizol Dog Park to meet up with many of her puppies for their 4th birthday party. We had such a great time! Lots of dogs and snacks. We took Luca along as well, and Watson invited himself into the car too.

Ripples.

A lovely glow in the sky for Human Rights Day.

Fringed fungal forest.

Tiny flowers.

A hadeda at the Sea of Galilee.

Models in progress. The Fw-189, a twin-engined reconnaissance plane, and the CMC Leopard, a twin-engined private jet, are both 1/72 scale.

I often feel that the web 20 years ago was more usable than now. Open a website now, and you get a pop-up video, then an "allow notifications" pop-up, then an "accept cookies" pop-up, then there's a chat window pop-up on the bottom right, and a couple of "share" buttons obscuring part of the text.

Golden Tuesday.

Saturday sulphur skies.

I ran the 2025 JPMorgan Corporate Challenge last night. In amongst the 10000-14000 runners, I managed to beat my PR for the six JPMorgan races I've run by all of 11 seconds, that 11 seconds being made up in my final sprint, I'm sure. 6:28/km was decent enough for me, especially given the walkers.

Painting, finally, on the Fw-189.

Cockpit done for my tiny 1/72 CMC Leopard passenger jet.

Colours of morning.

Early morning Joburg.

Pink skies to ahead of the Cradle Cracker 10k race at the Jodev Farm Stall. That was a tough one. First time I've done a sub-30 5k in years. The second half was mostly uphill though...

Delta Park cosmos.

Friday sun rays.

Just peachy

I love the super cute little jumping spiders that hang around on our fly trap.

Red dawn on Tatooine today.

We had an absolute deluge this afternoon, more than 100mm in an hour, I believe. Trees have been downed and roads flooded. At home, we lost power on one of our plug circuits, and found several old and new roof leaks. One electric fence wire seems to have been ripped loose - lightning or hail. Whew.

Some sort of weird tow truck mating ritual.

Masking German WW2 aircraft canopies is so, so tedious! This is one of four canopies on the Fw-189 I'm busy with.

We were going to road trip to Rustenburg today so I could do Rainhill Farm Parkrun, but it looks like it's raining there. Even assuming no cancellation. I don't fancy running in rain and mud a 90 min drive from home. So instead I did a misty Roodepoort Parkrun. Absolutely perfect running weather.
