Iowa legislators introduced a bill that would remove gender identity from the state's civil rights code, instate a bathroom ban, end gender marker changes, and would redefine "man" and "woman" to erase trans people. Just sent 67 or so emails to republican legislators about how fucked this is.

The Indigenous People of North America have decided to go back to calling the Gulf of Mexico, “Chalchiuhtlicueyecatl”. It is what the Nahuatl People originally called it as it is the domain of the goddess Chalchiuhtlicue, who is assoc w/water bodies, including the Gulf of Mexico.

Finally found the motivation to write a new poem and submit a few to a handful of publications. Two years of rejections and mental health issues as of late have sapped my inspiration and kind of left me disillusioned. Fingers crossed, but even if I get more rejections, I want to keep writing things.
