We won’t be celebrating World Book Day this year. Our research shows that in 2022 only 2% of GCSE pupils studied a whole text - a novel or a play - by a female author. Three years later little has changed. #WorldBookDay2025 #WorldBookDay

If the results of the German elections have taught us anything it’s that the far right is gaining traction across Europe and the UK is not far behind. This is not the time to be complicit. We must not let history repeat itself. #HumanRights #UKPolitics #AmnestyFeminists

International Development Minister Anneliese Dodds has resigned over cuts to the UK aid budget. Poverty disproportionately affects women. It reduces their access to basic human rights such as clean drinking water, education and health care. We call on the UK Government to cancel the cuts.

Ofsted have scrapped single word judgements of schools after inspections. However we took a look at schools and the word ‘sexist’ seems to cover it.

Actively supporting a sex offender is working out great, it is even worse than I anticipated

Women are invisible in the curriculum. Boys are not learning about women’s achievements, opinions and experiences. They are not taught to develop empathy and see women as people. Hey Labour - start with a root cause of violence of violence against women and girls. End sexism in schools.

Anyone else struggling with the work-omg-how-good-are-Lambrini-Girls balance today?

“Bloom’s list suggests that over the course of Western literature, women have comprised a mere 15% of the greatest writers, a sentiment which has been reflected in school curriculums.” We adore this Substack by @mbookclub.bsky.social - especially when it cites our research 👏👏👏

Louder for those at the back. FIX THE SEXIST SCHOOL CURRICULUM AND CULTURE THAT REINFORCES THIS BEHAVIOUR. It’s time to end sexism in schools.

Schools must urgently dismantle the patriarchal norms that reinforce this misogyny. We can’t go on like this. It’s time to end sexism in schools. ITVX article here: shorturl.at/tIlxH
