This thread on PIP is essential reading for those of us lucky enough never to have had to claim it, yet.

Essential reading.

"Silencing a child’s firsthand account of survival in Gaza, where over 13,000 children have been killed since October 2023, is not about compliance but about erasing Palestinian suffering" artistsforpalestine.org.uk/2025/02/26/5... via @art4pal.bsky.social

The Prime Minister shouldn’t be engaging — let alone reviewing arms sales — with someone that has an active ICC arrest warrant for war crimes.

Rachel Reeves has reportedly weakened planned changes to the non-dom tax regime after “intense lobbying from wealthy UK residents”. I look forward to seeing if “intense lobbying” from disabled people will stop Labour cutting benefits.

The violence against Palestinians in the West Bank is a reminder that genocide, ethnic cleansing and apartheid have not ended. We will never stop opposing the occupation of Palestine because we believe in a simple and moral truth: every human being deserves to live in freedom.

My lovely mum. Gone but never forgotten.

Catching up on SA20 JSKvMICT. I absolutely love watching Jonny Bairstow bat. Disappointed he's no longer in the England test squad despite there being exciting new players.

Why does "a proper conversation" always involve a large number of people being told to shut up?

If you give more contracts to the private sector, staff get pulled away from the NHS to the private sector. Private capacity grows, NHS capacity shrinks. It's not temporarily reliving the NHS - it's killing it off. The private sector receives 20% of NHS funds for helping 10% of patients.

If you want the NHS to succeed, it's actually quite simple. You invest directly in the NHS, fix NHS pay, and stop money flowing away into private practice.

The ongoing genocide in Gaza is now rarely mentioned by mainstream media outlets. We are witnessing the normalization of the utmost barbarity.

I'm a grandma to 2 baby grandchidren. The idea of either suffering trauma is unthinkable. How is our government so callous &, frankly, evil that they continue to support what Israel is doing in Palestine? How on earth do they sleep at night?

There's a strange idea among moderates that radicals take far left positions for the vibes, or to posture, or just because they're radical position. We take these stances because we want a livable planet, we want people to have good lives, and because in many cases they're winning positions.

Apparently, Keir Starmer has no shame. I am a nobody, but I would be embarrassed if someone bought my glasses, clothes, & tickets to events in order to get something from me.

Freddie Flintoff's Field Of Dreams is so inspiring & heart warming. A great documentary & I really hope for the best for the boys/young men taking part.

His 'change' is making people cynical about democracy. It's even worse than we could have imagined. I can't get over the idea that children & pensioners need to be punished to save the economy.

Should posting on Bluesky be called bleating?

So Pensioners have to save the UK’s public finances. Not the greed billionaires or companies with their tax breaks, not MPs with the high pay, subsidised food/drink, expenses and their money making schemes/properties. Welcome to a fairer Britain ‘where those with the broadest shoulders blah blah’

There's 'change' from this government all right. I didn't vote for them (I voted for a local independent socialist) because I knew Labour under Starmer would be awful & believed what they said about their intentions. They've proved to be even worse than I could've guessed.

Been diagnosed with focal aware seizures & been precribed medication. They're a horrible experience every time - sometimes 5 times a day. I can't drive for at least a year after being seizure free. I'm very depressed .

Marvellous Elon Musk getting owned by Larry, the Number 10 Cat.

I really need the #NHS. I have chronic condition & had outstanding & expensive care for more than 6 years, saving my eyesight & independence, not to mention all the other times I've needed it throughout my life. I really fear for this amazing service in the future under Tory or Labour governments.

During lockdown I started listening to #TheArchers omnibus on catch up. I'm thinking I need to go back to daily listening to join in on tweetalongs. We'll see if I can be bothered!

So pleased the cricket is back tomorrow. #IndvEng
