Today is #Shropshireday and also the Feast of St Milburga. The daughter of Merewalh, king of the Magonsaete and second abbess of Wimnicas (Wenlock) She ruled over a community of both Monks and Nuns. Following her death around 716, she was soon venerated as a saint. #Shropshire #History #Folklore

About 5yrs ago I planted a load of snowdrop bulbs. Only 1 straggly thing survived the squirrels. It has this year turned into a big clump of flowers. I think I can think of this as a metaphor for my Lit Review too can’t I?

The 1918 Reform Act gave 8 million women the vote & an additional 5 million men. It tripled the electorate, disfranchised conscientious objectors & came within hours of abolishing First Past the Post. Its forging out of the horrors of war is an amazing story, that deserves to be much better known.
