In #mathstoday year 2 A level started projectiles, core maths finished the syllabus after the median mock grade (paper 1) being A 😃 and AS further maths (year2) did further stats revision for test tomorrow.

In my role of KS5 Maths Coordinator, a passion project of mine over the last 3 years has been to launch A-Level Statistics at my school. I successfully launched and now have two cohorts studying towards their A-Level Stats. As is known, there aren't a lot of resources out there so ... #alevelmaths

Well. Teachers pensions need paper retirement application (for reasons) but bristol city council are paperless. We’re told that every bit of paper they receive they scan and shred. No way to get an A4 sheet of paper to the WFH person who needs to sign it. (My husband retiring not me)

Or you could tell them they made the wrong decision.

Dipping my toe into this Blue Sky thing... Hello! Anybody out there? Jonny

#coremaths #AQA does quota sampling have to be proportional to population? Seems to be differences between 2023 paper 1 and textbooks.

#coremaths AQA 2A. Anyone want to convince me either way to apply to mark these papers if the opportunity arises? I can’t decide. @lilytgmaths.bsky.social @reflectivemaths.bsky.social

In #mathstoday we finished the syllabus with contingency tables in AS further maths.

Still seeking an awesome Teacher of Maths on a 0.6FTE basis from Easter. North Yorkshire School, close to transport links (train station and A1). DM any questions, pre-application visits welcome. www.king-james.co.uk/job/teacher-...

In #mathstoday yr13 finished moments, yr12 further finished AL binomial expansion and I sneaked out of work for a swim in between.

#mathstoday saw this on the back of a delivery van.

Why is my Bluesky discover tab full of mushrooms and cricket?

Seeking a short story that nicely chunks down into 5 parts for world book day. This is so pupils can be read a section by each of their teachers. We've always used Dahl stories as they are good at ending on cliffhangers each period but would like a change. RTs appreciated!

We have an upright piano we’d like to gift to primary school in South Wales. Will need to be picked up from Maesteg, Glamorgan, Wales. Been tuned every year and belong to a wonderful woman who played the church organ for many years.

To the delight of all my family, I have just found my stash of penny whistles that I haven’t played for over 20 years. The ash grove and go lassie go here I come.

Still time to apply, Yorkshire people!

One of my favourite people in education, and in general, please give him a follow!

Would any of you lovely maths teachers in the East of England like to join my school next year? Obviously I’m biased, but I think it’s a great place to work. Deadline is Monday 27th. www.swchs.net/blog/?pid=37...

In #mathstoday not off to a good start. #marking

Any advice for teaching a big A Level group with a wide range of attainment? #ALevelMaths
