Don't Mention the Children by @michaelrosenyes.bsky.social Very powerful words.

A brilliant Christmas song from Tim Minchin, one of mum and my favourites πŸ₯‚πŸŽ„ Feeling particularly far away this year. youtu.be/fCNvZqpa-7Q?...

Happy hot or cold holiday season friends πŸŽ„ Sharing one of my mum (Jill Stubington)’s recent favourite folky/funny Christmas tunes from the Melrose Quartet @jamesfagan.bsky.social Thanks mum πŸ˜†πŸŽΆπŸ¦Œ melrosequartet.bandcamp.com/track/the-ru...

Be very suspicious of places which have a rule of β€œno politics”. Everything is political. β€œNo politics” is a rule written by systems of oppression so they can’t be seen, spoken or challenged.

I wonder if it would be interesting or useful to have a list of identities and groups that are privileged and prioritiesed in the UK? What would be the problems with making a list like that? What would be with the impact? How would you use it?

This is a list of oppressed and systematically disadvantaged people and groups in the UK 🧡 The list is in no particular order. Items are loosely grouped. Please use it in any way if it's useful to you! I welcome your feedback, suggestions and comments ⭐️ docs.google.com/document/d/1... 1/8 ⬇️

Son and I are listening to The Babysitters Club. I’ve realised that the whole premise no longer makes sense in the era of mobile phones and group chats.

I don't always agree with the takes on tech that you hear on this podcast, but this one is good. It talks about the realities and ethics of AI and social media with Prof Mark Graham, and the very human real world of development with Associate Prof Paula Bialski. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

Is this consultation survey for real?! πŸ˜‚ It’s from Brighton & Hove council on changing the catchment areas for secondary schools If someone asked me to mock up a hilariously leading survey to illustrate how not to do it, it’d make it exactly like this. @cjforms.bsky.social one for the archives?

Persimmons huh? Who knew!

Shout out to Try Tag Rugby for this gender drop down which the (very othering) "other" option by saying "Let me type..."

This great summary shows there's an important piece missing in what we are asking from digital government: π—Άπ—»π—°π—Ήπ˜‚π˜€π—Άπ—Όπ—» π—Άπ˜€ π—»π—Όπ˜ π—²π—»π—Όπ˜‚π—΄π—΅.
