"Where is the 57 second run through of the Indiepop Hall of Fame?" we hear you ask.

Cold dank grey start to the day here on @thamespathnt.bsky.social at #Kingston where the #parkrun was slightly less slippery than last week but, I think, everso slightly longer due to the works on Teddington Lock footbridge.

One day in 1987, @clarewadd.bsky.social and I hitched up to Birmingham to sit in on the mixing of SARAH 1. We got a lift off a man who told us he’d driven all the way from Plymouth and hadn’t slept. He dropped us in Redditch. We found a bus, ate sandwiches on the platform of Selly Oak station, [1/7]

All the best weekends start with a #Parkrun - and in my case a walk to / from along @thamespathnt.bsky.social It was grey and muddy and my back injury is still giving me grief and I’ve lost my fitness so it was tough, but still glad I went. Now back home with toast and crumpets.

Great to get some copies of the Come to My World compilation - A Brief History of Indie Pop 1985-2023 through the other day - double LP / CD with around 40 tracks, including quite a few of ours & lots of brilliant music.

One of the great things about living in south west London is the ability to go and see the wonderful Slim Chance at a variety of local venues. First time at Hampton Hub Club tonight for me and @walking-class-hero.bsky.social - and here they are playing The Poacher. 2025 gig 12 if my maths is right.

Excellent visit to Crystal Palace subway, the Cordoba of SE19, with @walking-class-hero.bsky.social this morning. It’s open very rarely but well worth making plans to go.

Here in Tooting, we are lucky to have the River Wandle, a delicate ecosystem that provides a refuge from the hustle and bustle of city life. I have been engaging with the Environment Agency following reports of an oil spill. Read the latest update here: drrosena.co.uk/news/wandle-oil-spill

Greg skies and muddy brown water on today’s chilly Wey and Arun club paddle from Loxwood. Nice to be out on the water, despite still having cold hands several hours later.

One of the most under-reported effects of #HeathrowExpansion is its concreting over of 4 rivers into 2km-long tunnels under the runway and the diversion of a fifth through a landfill site. www.colnevalleypark.org.uk/heathrow-pos...

Clare Grogan? Talulah Gosh? The Soup Dragons? The Loft? The Sea Urchins? The June Brides? Debsey and Rachel from Dolly Mixture? The Waltones? Beth Arzy doing Shop Assistants? Can we call it the indiepop Last Waltz? I'd say so. www.patreon.com/posts/what-f...

Still on a high from last night. Didn’t get on my bike for a 6-30am cycle to the swimming pool, didn’t start work early, just really enjoying reading @petepaphides.bsky.social sleevenotes to the Sensitive compilation.

Well that was a night and a half! Huge thanks to @petepaphides.bsky.social @skepwax.bsky.social & everyone who sang played & came to the @needlemythology.bsky.social Sensitive compilation album launch. Here’s Jamie Sea Urchin singing Pristine Christine, something I thought I’d never see again!

Hats off to my volunteer @ramblers.org.uk colleagues on this project for getting all of this guidance (& maps) updated and republished once again!

The blood donation centre has excellent signage, brilliant views and Seabrook crisps.

“The idea was to walk the line from Peacehaven to the Humber. I had devised the notion that the physical act of walking would help me to locate what was lost”. 'Meridian' Nancy Gaffield A long poem An invisible line A 270-mile walk ngmeridian.wordpress.com

Jem Stone celebrates his punk rock: the DIY indie pop of The Sea Urchins, the Pooh Sticks, The Clouds and Talulah Gosh, gathered together on a new #NeedleMythology comp Compilation of the Week: Sensitive – An Indie Pop Anthology https://buff.ly/4jPBte7

Always love this from Blue Anchor Alley of Kew Road in Richmond (last night’s route from the bus to the pub).

Sometimes we have to improvise! Thanks to our volunteer who came up with this ingenious solution on Section 22 of the #LondonLoop - no post to add a disc to, but that can be solved with some scrap wood, four drill holes and a couple of plastic ties. & no damage to anyone else's property!

Great day poking about Paris in the sunshine after breakfast at the Tour Montparnasse avec @walking-class-hero.bsky.social - Fondation Cartier and Parc André Citroën.

Lovely evening watching David Christian (Comet Gain) & The Gentle Spring au Chaton Indépendant ici à Paris, evidenced by terrible photos because I stood at the back like an idiot. David joined TGS to play Emma’s House, which was lovely and unexpected - & TGS @skepwax.bsky.social debut album is ace!

More new signage in #Kingston - not sure if this is an official art project or guerrilla fun. Either way, I’m sure we can all really relate to the sentiment.

Thanks to the Cranford Park Project Officer & the site team who have added more signs and stickers (from our supplies I think) to make the #LondonLoop easier to follow in the middle section of the park - & thank you too for sharing your photos with us!

Good to be back on the river for a slow and steady #Parkrun after 7 long weeks of back injury. All things being equal today would have been number 200, but that will come…

Cold wind on my shoulders but a lane to myself at Hampton Pool today. Not too sorry this morning that the osteopath, whilst recommending swimming, has banned me from cycling there for now. It was nearly light by the time I got out.

England Coast Path, named after the king, should go through the king's great-great-great grandmother's Osborne estate, next to the sea campaignerkate.wordpress.com/2025/01/18/c... @ramblers.org.uk @openspacessociety.bsky.social @naturalengland.bsky.social @englishheritage.bsky.social

I used to spend so much time there with our very lovely cutting engineer!

People think all Sarah releases were recorded in bedrooms on dictaphones covered in Hello Kitty stickers and the vinyl masters made using a sharpened hair clip and one of those revolving cake stands, but most of our 7”s were actually cut here at the PWL complex in Borough, (1/2)

When it’s such a grey day your colour photos look black & white! This walk over the Millennium Bridge used to be my daily commute and I rather miss it. Part of the Green Link Walk now of course!

Another great gig to round off this weekend - The Gentle Spring launched their wonderful debut album on @skepwax.bsky.social today - catch them on tour over the next week if you can! Some very lovely old friends there too, so a thoroughly nice afternoon was had.
