Don't think single people get enough credit for doing life alone. Rent/mortgage is double, household responsibility and life admin is down to one person, you're your own emotional support, holidays are more expensive, you've to trap and transport human sacrifices for the solstice bonfire solo, etc.

The Google street view image on the shop whose opening hours I just checked was taken on a sunny day and I didn't recognise it. It is five minutes from my flat. As if I was in any doubt that this is February.

Made a throw away joke to the doorman on the way into the comedy club (it was relevant, I didn't bring a prepared bit), and carried on with my evening. On the way out he stopped me to tell me he enjoyed it. That chap was stewing on "she thinks I didn't get that" for more than 2 hours
