Two weeks ago I was motivated, protesting, townhall-ing, organizing, and feeling hopeful and powerful. I was telling the doomer "we're cooked" crowd to stop wallowing and start fighting. Are they right? The Democratic party won't fight and won't support our fight.

Lol, she's a selfish idiot. That's the beginning and the end.

They're literally illegally firing Tim Kaine's constituents in VA by the thousands, while giving dedicated foreign service officers 15m to collect their things. Destroying the VA economy. @timkaine01.bsky.social is a traitor to Virginians. Kaine is complicit.

I am telling all the active duty and veterans I know about the bonus army. They're like, "No way that happened. But that seems like it would work."

Ahh, when GOP gained control of Congress and has the Contract with America in their pocket they began asking for UC on everything to fast track stuff, perhaps?
comment in response to post
Sorry, Senate election went +8 for GOP. Have to look into it more for why UC exploded

Hmm...I wonder whatever happened

FYSA, I have declared myself Ambassador of the US Gov in Exile to this small but mighty former Warsaw Pact state. NATO membership transfers to me and if anyone tries to evict me from my hotel room with a narrow single bed with no top sheet I will invoke Article 5. Godspeed, Come and take it, etc.

Definitely, reading the Record is wild. Honestly just object to everything, even the NOAA declaration. "If you want to sit quietly while the regime illegally fires NOAA employees, go find the shambling skeletons you call Senators and get them here for every tiny procedural vote."

Thanks, and skimming now. We need a guided walkthrough on Zoom or something from @senategabe.bsky.social to give people a better understanding of how to better read these and what the opportunities are on any given day!

This is awesome, where do you pull this info from?

Just...wtf am I supposed to do OCONUS when I check out after this 9-day trip where the hotel is on the damn card? Now I have to try to get a rapid credit limit increase on my personal so I can once again return to my family instead of being trapped cleaning the hotel pool for years?

Ok, got it. In this case aren't they all there to vote on the nom anyway?
comment in response to post
In this case with everyone on the floor, what does objecting to UC do? How much can you delay if they're all on the floor with a quorum?

He sent an email out yesterday saying they were going for it. Now we gotta hold them to it

I have been urging them to refuse unanimous consent, organize and attend protests, and lead! They talked for 35m of a 95m townhall, telling their constituents nothing but what many of us see every day at our jobs with our own eyes
comment in response to post
No they're not, they're lying to you. They can at least refuse unanimous consent. They set up a barely usable resource list for fired feds (a ton of whom are their direct constituents) and then filibustered those people during that townhall. They can and need to do a lot more.
comment in response to post
He's not ignorant, he just did a townhall where fired feds bravely shared their stories. He could object to unanimous consent and grind Senate business to a halt. Instead, they've given the GOP unanimous consent nearly 400 times since Jan20

This is the dude that dismissed a case against a J6er as a US attorney WHILE HE WAS STILL REPRESENTING THE INSURRECTIONIST

My apologies, all received the message addressed to DOD but it was distributed by agency heads
comment in response to post
The email I saw referenced all DOD employees (though many active duty did not receive the initial email) and essentially says OPM can kick rocks bc DOD will happily manage its own personnel
comment in response to post
This is incorrect, it wasn't just Space Force, all DOD received a message from acting Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness telling everyone to not send anything in

They exist to represent the concerns and interests of Marylanders, not geriatric New Yorkers

This is probably the total extent to which they are screening foreign nationals and influence. "Well we made it so they can't access the website, what else do we need to do?"

And another reason why, "let USAID die and choose only very specific battles" is dumb. Attack everywhere and force errors.

Gov offices are not dealing with being chronically understaffed by having managers and budget people look the other way as Mickey Mouse is sent a paycheck. Good example of a dumbass thing that happens 10x more in private than public sector

But was your experience any different than the more weight and rank officers put on the squishier their waists and spines get? Most will keep their heads down, do their time, then quietly drop their papers when they get an opening. It's great Milley eventually spoke out, but way too late
comment in response to post
I'm on the inside. It's racist and sexist horseshit that is gonna have serious negative impacts on everyone, including white dudes. I can't teach gender as a component of human terrain analysis so that patrols recognize that a market with no women might be fucking dangerous
comment in response to post
I can tell you from experience within DoD that there is already an intense amount of consternation among senior officers about domestic deployments - and Gitmo and small forces to the border are only adding to that. They worry civ leadership will sell them out

Another completely shit headline from @nytimes.com. Makes it seem like Brown was canned because of some Pentagon turmoil under his watch, not that Trump created turmoil by sacking leaders

Please don't send normies to DVIDS. I assigned a video from there to my students and I need that broken site to live a little longer
comment in response to post
Lol, no way they will. They'll all be out there like Milley was after the regime smashes protesters, only to find their spines years later and write books about "duty."
comment in response to post
The only "enemies" they intend to use the military on are domestic
