Lotsa people follow "sports" like the Kentucky Derby, but I just can't tolerate anything that features the beating of animals.

The Onion nails it again

This Saturday night (May 3rd) at 7:30 pm, I shall attempt a live performance at Collage, A Place for Art and Culture. g.co/kgs/V3zaWpF Admission is $20, there's no drink or food, and the neighborhood is VERY sketchy, so bring guns and weapons.  Parking is scarce as well. I get one comp, so yay!

Goodbye Virginia Giuffre. You saved so many women, but you couldn't save yourself.

Best post I've seen today: Hegseth was a DUI hire.

This.

Here we go . . .

In space, no one can hear Katy Perry sing.

AOC: We must acknowledge the terrifying moment we are in right now. What we are hearing and seeing with our own eyes is, in fact, happening. We are watching our neighbors, students, and friends being fired, targeted, and disappeared. It is real.

There was a breathtaking moment when pallbearers fell into a grave in Pennsylvania. But it would have been really funny if one of them had been a ventriloquist: youtu.be/w2yKPPjOSAE?...

Yes, THIS is what we've come to as a country: patch.com/california/l...

It's not a bad idea to go to the local Walmart or big box retailer and buy lots of consumables now. From toothpaste to soap, anything you can find storage space for, buy before they have to replenish inventory. Even if it's made in the USA , they will jack up the price and blame it on tariffs.

I have had to change the way I teach Constitutional Law. I now teach the Emoluments Clauses, the Disqualification Clause, the 25th Amendment, and now I'm going to have to spend way more time on the 22nd Amendment. ‼️📜⚖️

Canadian here !!!

Today is National Something on a Stick Day and of course it instantly reminded me of my longtime friend Calvert DeForest - better known as Larry "Bud" Melman - who championed Toast on a Stick! Somehow the logistics of that never caught on. RIP Calvert.

For those of you who thought that we were heading towards a dictatorship - you read the memo wrong. We're there.

True dat.

Pete Buttegeig made this point last night on CNN. The war plans (Goldberg said they were very detailed, so much he wouldn’t print them) are on a secure system. To get them onto Signal, Hegseth would have to do a cut and paste. Labor intensive! Maybe he retyped?

Gotta be honest, not really enjoying 2025's remake of "The Wizard of Oz."

New Substack post up just in time for baseball season: clayheery.substack.com/p/my-tommy-l... It's FREE!

This is an oldie, but we NEED this laugh today:

Jason Kelce is convinced that the Flyers' mascot Gritty is modeled after him. Not the kind of thing to admit in public, Jase. But at least they got the eyebrows right:

Thought du Jour: It's now harder to get into Costco than it is to get into Mexico.

The Republican governor of Indiana, Mike Braun, has STOPPED Dolly Parton from distributing her FREE books to kids under 5 in his state. This is what we've come to in this country.
