MAGA would do well to remember that without France’s aid during the Revolutionary War, we’d still be British colonies.

Volodymyr Zelensky's Oval Office visit ended early when Donald Trump and JD Vance began angrily yelling at him. Here's why women like Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton are too emotional to be president.

Severe temperamental and emotional maturity issues exhibited today by the President and Vice President. What other major decisions will be distorted by their petty, egomaniacal instincts?

They’re gonna run out of champagne in the Kremlin

A more clairvoyant page of text has never been written (in 1985 nonetheless). Neil Postman.

“Trump is acting like a king because he doesn’t know how to be a president.” - Ezra Klein (2025)

Biden issuing pre-emptive pardons for Trump’s declared enemies then warmly greeting him like this is such a cowardly move

Repeal Citizens United. Open the floodgates to purging the undue influence of money in our politics.

Dean Phillips is looking mighty clairvoyant right now

I feel like we need to acknowledge that pursuing the NYC hush money conviction was counterproductive and undermined the gravity of the other cases that Americans needed to see in the spotlight (i.e. attempting to overturn the election)

America needs an inclusive revival of intellectualism. Only way to raise the standards in this country and root out demagoguery.

WHAT THE *%#! MERRICK

One thing the upper class GenX men haven’t considered when voting for Trump this time around: Their golf courses, who often staff groundskeeping crews with undocumented immigrants, are going to take a hit from these mass deportations. (since appeals to decency or reason don’t seem to work)

Biden hosting Trump in the Oval Office next to a warm fire and ensuring a smooth transition after Trump refused to even concede is just the latest, most striking example of Dems being the adults while Republicans get to throw temper tantrums at the expense of our democracy and get rewarded for it.

Blue Sky really does feel like Twitter in the early days. Let’s keep it that way. Mostly by keeping bots off the platform.

Bingo. Would love to see the Dems take aim at revitalizing American community-based civic life but not holding my breath

People forget that incumbent George H.W. Bush oversaw 19 months of economic growth following a recession and still got punished for it by voters who elected his opponent Bill Clinton in 1992. Seems like the same insurmountable headwind that Biden/Harris faced this year.

The fact that people still think tariffs are taxes applied to foreign companies is wild to me. GOVERNMENTS CANNOT TAX OTHER COUNTRIES. THAT’S WHY THEY ARE *OTHER COUNTRIES* It’s purely a punishment to domestic companies importing foreign goods.

Wikipedia is one of the great treasures of the internet. The ability to get a precise, high quality understanding of any topic in such an efficient way is unprecedented. Not to mention the ability to open rabbit holes of new but related discoveries.

Tim Walz not walking out to Willie Nelson’s “Hello Walls” is a major L

This race is extra tragic for the republicans because so many people would love to consider voting for their candidate but instead they’re running an unhinged narcissistic imbecile with almost no conservative principles and who recently tried to overturn an election.

Republicans can’t keep getting away with the unprecedented erosion of norms and trust in America’s institutions. open.substack.com/pub/sensible...

I miss Steve Irwin

A huge difference between today and 10-15 years ago is that people would see the Olympic boxing news story and not have an outlet to immediately inject their ill-informed, impulsive opinions before the story got straightened out. There was nowhere for misinformation to catch on fire, unlike now.

Does anyone else not understand the “[identity group] for Kamala” thing? If race is indeed a superficial characteristic that we’re trying to move past self-sorting and societal stratification for, why are Dems leaning into it? Just seems out of touch and reinforces political segregation.
