I've had the most productive string of meetings this week. Lots of mentor stuff and helping people find new tools and methods for game and UX stuff, and got a lot of help and encouragement that I really needed from someone I look up to a whole bunch. I'm so much more productive when I'm unemployed.

As someone who's super particular about links, I'm not exactly thrilled that BlueSky lets users hide URLs behind flavor text now. When did that start? Can we make it unstart again? Because it's a bad thing to not know where a link's gonna take you.

Not that Unity cares about communication, but again: UX writers are absolutely necessary. The one thing computers are good at is conditional logic. A system should never give an if statement to a user. That's as backwards as it gets. But wording aside, this is still horrible and super scary.

Went to a nice new coffee shop today, and all the workers had strong European accents that I couldn't pin down. One explained that they can add this mushroom powder to any drink for a dollar, but "it's tasteless." I let her know that "flavorless" is probably a better term and explained why.

We need a lot more employers who feel this way about real art, and will pay people to create it for the price a real artist deserves. Honestly, anyone who looks at a portfolio like his and then passes because the candidate has a conscience shouldn't be doing business in the first place.
