I beat S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. Fun game, but it has serious issues. I can see why it has such a dedicated fanbase and why it has a healthy modding community. There's too much bullshit for it to actually be good, just close to being good. That's why the fans mod the problems out.

I just replayed Doom 2016 for the fifth time since it released. Holy fuck, that game is still sooo good. 😃🤤 I'm gonna try Doom Eternal next. This'll be my second attempt to play it. Last time I bounced off of it like 6 hours in. I hope I can get into it this time. 🤞

it has been said before but one problem is that when some people say 'the economy' they're talking about poor people affording food and housing, & when some other people say 'the economy' they're referring to a chart of how happy rich people are

I knew this was gonna happen eventually, but it still sucks imo. When you leave content moderation up to an AI bot they WILL block or ban content that is perfectly harmless and doesn't break TOS. I hope Bluesky isn't just trying to become a copy of 2015 Twitter, with all the same problems included.

DOOM: The Dark Ages looks good, but the direction the series is going makes me nervous. I don't want Doom to be Marvelfied™ (What craaazy setting are we gonna put the doom slayer in next??) because that'll eventually lead to a live service doom game. I know Bethesda wants to take a crack at that.

I've finally gotten around to playing Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl. I can see why this game is considered a cult classic. It's one of those games that's SO close to being good, but has too many problems for it to be considered a "good" game to anyone outside a niche audience.

No one wants to walk around for 10 minutes to look for the guy who has the key to the razor blades cabinet

It's not that he didn't try for a doomed to fail push for these things. It's that he waited until the end of his presidency to say this stuff. Stay this at the START after you're sworn in! And remind people of it constantly while you're in office. Money in politics is THE #1 problem right now.

the reason gen z doesn’t care at all about “china having their data” is because gen z knows that the US government has collected their online activity data since they were born

The US government banning TikTok for "concerns about data security" is just a sneaky way of phrasing the REAL reasons. #1 - THEY want to be the only ones who get to spy on US citizens and use social media to manipulate people. #2 - Big tech doesn't want any competition disrupting their monopolies.

I just beat Final Fantasy 16 + its DLC's. This was my first JRPG game. I had fun. The story was good even if parts of it weren't for me and the side quests could have been more interesting, but there was enough there for me to willingly sync 100+ hours into it. GG's over all 👍

I've been playing Final Fantasy 16 over the last few days. This is my first FF game. Not counting 15, which I didn't like or finish. I'm enjoying 16 so far. The way it uses politics in its narrative is exactly what I need in my life right now. With everything being the way it is and all.

This right here is why I use ad block almost all the time now. It's not just because "ads are annoying". It's because they actively make the page harder to read and sometimes break the page all together. If a website asks me to disable my ad block, I'll just click off. It's not worth the headache.

every site needs a version of somethingawful's "we can just ban you" policy to use against bad actors who make a game of ruining the site while making sure to always stay 1% shy of violating the rules as-written

I kid you not, @itch.io has been taken down by Funko of "Funko Pop" because they use some trash "AI Powered" Brand Protection Software called Brand Shield that created some bogus Phishing report to our registrar, iwantmyname, who ignored our response and just disabled the domain

I beat the remaster of The Thing video game. It's one of those games that I know is flawed, but I can't help but like it anyway. I think I would like to see someone make a Resident Evil 2 style remake of it. My ★★★½ review of The Thing: Remastered (2024) www.backloggd.com/u/Clockwolf/...

The Thing: Remastered just dropped today! The Thing movie is one of my favorite all time films and I enjoyed this game as a kid when I played it on the ps2. Despite it being a janky and clunky mess. I heard the remaster fixes a lot of the problems with the original game as well.

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record. They run them bc people react to them the most. If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change. It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

European Federation of Journalists announces they're going to stop posting on Twitter (X) • Says Elon Musk has 'transformed it into a machine of disinformation and propaganda' • EFJ represents over 295K journalists

I just finished the Mouthwashing game. A pretty good character drama mixed with some phycological horror. There were some gameplay segments that frustrated me and parts of the game where I felt like it was trying too hard to be like Silent Hill P.T. But over all I liked it. 👍

I finished playing Evil West. It was good. Not great, and I don't really see myself playing it again. But I had fun and I feel like it was worth the time and money I spent on it. 👍 My ★★★½ review of Evil West (2022) www.backloggd.com/u/Clockwolf/...

Please. Stop. Making. Posts. Like. This. It. Makes. Them. Harder. To. Read. And. Does. Not. Make. Your. Point. Any. Clearer.

Good. It’s horrific how other platforms abused their reach to strangle local, independent, and national outlets alike. I WANT to see news and actual vetted work and I WANT journalists to get rewarded for it. Because I want to live in a thinking human world over some AI generated slop dystopia

Every time a content creator or celebrity gets exposed for being a creep there's a 50/50 chance they will say they're being canceled. And the people in the anti-woke/anti-liberal crowd will welcome them with firm handshakes every time, because they only care about recruiting bodies to their side.

People who love and use Linux do so because of what they gain. Customizable desktops and more control over your PC. People who love and use Windows do so because of what they can avoid. It has a lower barrier to entry, due to never needing to navigate a terminal and learn commands.

I'm playing a game called Evil West. It feels like something someone pulled straight out of 2013. The early Gears of War feel of the gameplay is palpable.

Others have noted it but I will too: The big reason Bluesky is so hot right now is that the people who add value to social media - the frequent posters in specific fields - are here now, talking to each other and creating the "spectator value" that draws users and attention.

I think a lot of this "capitalism is bad" rhetoric would disappear if companies would just stop underpaying and mistreating their employees. The problem is a lot of the companies that mistreat their employees pay our politicians a lot of money to let it keep happening.

High Functioning Stoners That Know How To Code.

The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.

Hooray! 🎉 The steam official twitter account was half the reason why I still looked at that website.

awl man 😢

it disgusts me the national democratic party barely pushes back at this attempt from the right to wind back LGBTQ rights decades after claiming to be the party of LGBTQ rights

I came over here because I was sick of seeing far right garbage on Twitter. Those "resistance liberal reply guys" are going to post that shit constantly to dunk on it. Giving it attention and shoving it into peoples feeds. 😒 The best way to deal with "trigger the libs" types is to ignore them.

I just beat the demo for Butcher's Creek. The latest game from David Szymanski, of Iron Lung and Dusk fame. I can't wait for this to come out. He's clearly taking a shot at a spiritual successor to Condemned: Criminal Origins. Hell yes! 👍 store.steampowered.com/app/2512560/...

Just my 2 cents. But my goal is to ignore the trolls. Give them zero attention. Block them if they annoy me. I think the worst thing we can do on this site is re-create the ad hominem/ personal attacks that occur across comments on Twitter/insta/tiktok/ etc

I'm glad that Bluesky is still growing. But I hate that these "resistance liberal reply guys" are moving over here from Twitter. The general ethos when I first got here was to just ignore people that want to "trigger the libs". These dudes give those accounts all the attention in the world.

Boomers: "I like movies." Me: "Watch the original How To Train Your Dragon." Boomers: "I only watch adult films. Animated movies are for kids." Gen Z: "Animated movies aren't just for kids!" Me: "Go watch the 1960 movie, Phycho." Gen Z: "That movie's in black and white. It's for old people."

Alright, most of my real life shit is out of the way. So I can finally play some damn video games. I haven't gotten to play much of anything over the last two weeks. I have games and demos installed and I'm gonna play them right the fuck now.

I’ve seen enough to make a call: Bluesky is going to be a legit competitor to Twitter. Sweet.

I like how discord went down RIGHT when I was gonna hang out with my friend and play video games for the first time in over a week because of how busy I am. I've concluded that if there is a god, he must hate me lol

the best part about bluesky is that, unlike twitter, it isn’t putting annoying bull shit designed to piss me off in front of me every 3 minutes

Please tell me that a "skeet" isn't actually what we call a "tweet" over here!? I thought that was just a meme smh

I think I speak for a lot of people when I say I switched to Bluesky because I was tired of seeing garbage on my Twitter feed. I'm sick of seeing posts like "Maybe racism and rape IS good actually? I don't know! I'm just asking questions! 🤷‍♂️" I just wanna see memes and cat pics man! 😫

This is a very good feature to have. If someone dogpiles your post you can simply remove it from their feed so their followers can't see it lol
