Between today’s squally showers, I ventured out to bring a little of the wild in, making myself a moss garden. A cup of rainwater, topped with moss, pierced with wildflowers. Seven different species now flowering—bring on Spring! #WildflowerHour #Wildflowers #SolaceInNature

Notes of #Spring. The #Blackbird woke me this morning, practicing his scales and perfecting his performance for Spring’s #DawnChorus. This afternoon, the gentle perfume of #Snowdrops and Primroses stirred my senses as I paused to savour the first #Honeybee notes of the year. Sound up! #Wildflowers

Soldiering on! The fiery berets of British soldier #lichen, called apothecia, release spores—but without algae, they can’t form new lichens. Instead, they spread when fragments break off and hitch a ride on wind, gravity, or passersby. That bold red? Sunscreen, warning, or visually appetising cue?

Still feeling ropey today, thinking to myself: these tangled days are the rigging, the necessary lines to trim the sails of this vessel called #Recovery. Surely, calmer seas await. Soon, there’ll be: Land ahoy! Thank you for keeping this ship afloat, for buoying me up with your #Kindness and light.

I’ve faced countless eye surgeries, complications, and the trials of #SightLoss - but I’m not here to dwell in fear. To those on this path: you are not alone. #Courage isn’t the absence of fear but the will to move forward. #Light isn’t just seen; it’s carried. Together, we’ll outshine the dark.

In my sunshine-yellow wellies, I trudged through the meadow beneath a grudging grey sky. Yet there was joy in their squish and the enchanted forests my imagination conjured. Some see a mossy rock; I see Brigadoon! Step out in your wellies, whatever the weather—you never know what magic you’ll find!

Celandine Sunshine—the first celandine to shine in our habitat this year. The sky may be cloudy and grey, but in my mind, this radiant #Wildflower has chased the clouds away! Wishing everyone a bright and beautiful day, whatever the weather may say. #Nature, where there is light. #SolaceInNature

A benevolent brownie, cast a spell on me today, urging me to tidy and sweep. With my daintiest brush in hand, I dusted, gathering up wildflower seeds and fairy dust. Convinced every speck and seed held a trace of magic, I cast my sweepings to the wind, incanting my own benevolent wildflower spell!

Natures pallet. This past week in our nature garden, I mindfully gathered and gently arranged Spring’s first wildflowers. With them bloom hope, love, and joy—ever more precious as I navigate challenges to my eyesight. I hope nature’s beauty has found you too. #WildflowerHour #TheWinter10 #Nature

Today, I discovered two natural world wonders: Scarlet elf cups - crimson goblets perched amongst the moss, and Pixie-cup-lichen - miniature ear trumpets, dusted in pale green fairy dust, poised, I fancy, to capture the revelry of the elves! Enchanting reminders of the magic of the natural world.

Softly treading beneath the Beech tree, #Spring is stepping forward, her first flowers holding fast against the storm. Wind bends their slender stems, rain chastens their tender flowers, yet they endure—bowed but unbroken. Even in the wildness of weather, beauty rises, steady and sure. #Wildflowers

Wearily resting my eyes today, I opened them to see a rainbow. “Promise of bright and beautiful days ahead”, the invisible said, whereupon, I drifted back to sleep. With thanks for the kindness shown to me here, lighting up my virtual world, like a rainbow too! #ThankYou #GratefulHeart #Rainbow

#T1D and eager to know how to normalise blood glucose and optimise your insulin? This event will help show you the way! I’ll be there, together with the good samaritans who signposted the way forward for me when, facing advanced #DiabeticRetinopathy I felt utterly lost. type1keto.com/half-day-virtu…

Living with advanced #DiabeticEyeDisease has its challenges, but today brought a moment of real joy. Thanks to Merlin, my incredible ‘seeing machine,’ I can once again see the vivid details of my artwork. Huge thanks to Wiltshire Sight for loaning me this sight/life enhancing device! #SightLoss

When I’m feeling less than lively, and less able to play out, I bring a little of the wild in. Today, I made myself a moss garden. A cup of rainwater, topped with moss, pierced with the wildflowers now piercing through the wintry earth in our habitat. #WildflowerHour #NatureHeals #SolaceInNature

Wandering through our habitat today, I noticed the first snowdrops and winter aconites of the year, popping their heads out from under winters earthy, leaf blanket.Their buds, tightly closed - still #Wildflower dreaming, waiting for warmth and sunlight to coax them wide awake #NoticingNature #Nature

I wandered into Narnia earlier this week—Wednesday, I think. Now it’s Sunday, and I like to imagine I stayed, enchanted by its beauty. In reality? My week was less fairytale, more fatigue. Still, I’ll choose #Wonder over weariness any day! I hope #NaturesBeauty and #NaturalWonders inspire you too.

Medical advice, to avoid what’s referred to as a flare, re #AutoimmuneDisease, not to mention #Lyme’s, is to avoid physical and emotional stress. #EyeSurgery followed by Christmas proved an obstacle course for me, I’m still stumbling through. But, I’ll get there - and back here again soon, promise!
