#Discworld I am reading *Feet of Clay,* [spoilers]] . . . . . . . . . . and I will be frustrated if this turns out to be the third Watch book in a row where the villains are trying to re-establish the monarchy in Ankh-Morpork.

Bill Maher talking about the 80's and 90's as the "heyday of newspapers" and "a gentler time." Um, what?

Here's a quote from "Opal Essence" on Discord that I have been thinking a lot about: "War is hell and we make it hell by seeking greater and faster ways to kill the conscripted and the convinced at the behest of the rich and power hungry."

#Discworld A disadvantage of audiobooks is when the unknown villain speaks in one scene, and then Vimes goes on an unrelated visit in the next scene to someone with the same voice.

I do not understand why any business is allowing unidentified, masked thugs to kidnap their employees. Lock the place down and call the cops. Either make these people identify themselves and say where they are taking people or arrest them for kidnapping and assault.

#Discworld Aaaargh! I'm going through the Watch books in order and just starting Feet of Clay, and here's Sibyl with a full staff and "talking about curtains." Sibyl was an eccentric rich woman who didn't care what anyone thought. WHY did Pratchett turn her into a fine lady?

@worldsbeyondnumber.bsky.social Episode 50 is once again the best yet. Watching these characters grow, watching the world of Umora expand, drinking in the beauty and the danger, the humor and the heartbreak gets me through the week.

About the birthday parade: Did the Army actually march to "Fortunate Son?"

Holy shit. I knew it was bad. I didn't know it was this bad. states.guttmacher.org/policies
