I play (and sometimes speedrun) video games, and sometimes cover their music. See links and stream projects at cney.stream! (The site is 100% self-coded; I am a web developer by day.)

It sure is interesting to watch the stark contrast between the Switch and Switch 2. Switch: Mario Odyssey instantly sold me, seemed super interesting Switch 2: Mario Kart World is so bland, I remain perfectly comfortable in my position of not buying any new consoles.

Doing another Relentless Frontier test-run on a newer build to see how much stuff has been fixed watch.cney.stream

Okko the Exiled (belated) #SteamNextFest verdict: Really promising action platformer with excellent graphics and music... but some of the mechanics and design choices make me really not like it. It's apparently early in development so I hope some of these can be addressed...

AEROMACHINA (belated) #SteamNextFest verdict: Surprisingly decent and promising Godot-based 3D action-platformer metroidvania. One of extremely few demos I've found that actually bothers to have a Linux build.

Remember, bsky was originally backed by the same piece of shit right-wing nutjob cryptobro who co-founded the hellsite. And yet people flocked here, seemingly partly _because_ of that. And then bsky hired a head of T&S who clearly didn't actually prioritize T&S. Yet now people are surprised?

Ended up feeling OK this afternoon after all, but didn't really have time for a full stream; instead used the time to finish unfinished business with the AEROMACHINA demo, so my even-more-full playthrough of that should be coming to YouTube in the next couple of days.

Vaccines save lives. They are safe and effective. And no, they do not cause autism.

Some asshole neighbor took their pet harrier jet out for a walk after midnight, and I haven't fallen back asleep since, so pretty safe to say I'm not streaming today. Can't win with these people. Sometimes they make noise at 5AM, sometimes at midnight. Can't sleep early, can't sleep late.

A hair under $10 (USD) is extremely reasonable for the amount of fun you can have exploring this game right now in early access, and that's not counting the whole-ass other huge episode that's in development.

🚨Selaco is 30% off! If you bought the game at full price within the last two weeks, you can contact Valve for a refund of the difference - get some of your money back! Have fun with the game 💙

Oh cool I guess #Twitch is the latest web app to spontaneously switch all of their buttons from rounded rectangles to pills without considering its impact across various UI contexts at all so it just looks like shit now lol YOLO I'm sure someone's getting a completely-undeserved promotion for this

Late start today but trying to fit in one more #SteamNextFest demo from my overflow list. Might revisit Monday's demo as well if I happen to have time. watch.cney.stream

A worthless amalgamation of crappy automated upscaling and outright AI slop is _not_ how you remaster a classic. This would require a level of course-correction that would make A Realm Reborn look like a patch release. Otherwise Squeenix can wave goodbye to any semblance of legitimacy.

Oh so you don't have to spend millions on a liberal Joe Rogan or attack trans people or support genocide to win after all

Finally making a dent in my remaining list of #SteamNextFest demos that I haven't yet played watch.cney.stream

Starting to see how speedruns of the new build of Relentless Frontier will pan out watch.cney.stream

Hi, person who grew up in the woods/mountains and backcountry camper here. Don't use AI generated paths. This is genuinely such an easy way to get killed or go missing. Stick to the planned trail, always go prepared, go with a physical map and compass, someone should know where you're going.

I've still got more demos to play, and a few that I did play that I wanted to spend more time with, so let's get to some of that today and tomorrow. watch.cney.stream

Odd, I thought "fear-mongering" was what those GOP pieces of shit do to get elected in the first place. If anything this video is still likely far _less_ terrifying than the real thing.

I've finished a test playthrough of the new Relentless Frontier build, but one thing I still haven't done is try out its score attack mode... watch.cney.stream

I've still got ground left to cover in the Relentless Frontier dev build, starting with the newly-renovated(?) crashed ship watch.cney.stream

Continuing my test run of Relentless Frontier's latest build, getting to the back half of E1 which promises to have some interesting new details... watch.cney.stream

So far I've been posting about #SteamNextFest demos that I've been overall positive on. I guess I should also mention the ones that haven't gone over so well. I'll do this in a single thread so hopefully it's easier for people to skip if they don't want to read it.

Mala Petaka #SteamNextFest verdict: this continues to be a solid gzdoom-based FPS with a vibrant aesthetic that will appeal to fans of Mega Man, Pulseman, and the like. The demo this time around seems pretty similar to what I played last September, with a few tweaks...

He Who Watches #SteamNextFest verdict: Extremely promising first-person puzzle game that plays like a dungeon crawler. This broke my brain and I ended up not finishing the demo, but it's extremely interesting, and it has accessibility options in case the movements cause motion sickness.

JETRUNNER #SteamNextFest verdict: This is extremely "we have Neon White at home". It's a decent attempt worth playing, but NW clearly outclasses this, especially when it comes to plot, audio balance, OST, and crispness of mechanics. This has a LOT of flashy effects that I wish could be toned down.
