Mark your calendars.🧵 The US is a huge landmass; on the west coast, even politically-engaged folks are 3,000 miles from the nation's capital. Compared to other large countries w/ authoritarian leaders, the pluralist US lacks a strong cohesive cultural identity to draw on to challenge the coup (1/2)

With so many NPS workers being fired for no good reason under the current administration, soon there’ll hardly be any park rangers left to tell the visitors to leave the frogs alone. There will also be no visitors if the govt keeps closing the parks. So, a few new layers to this poem since last week

Lovely poems here. The thistle poem reminded me of when I was in grad school.. I had to write a 120-page thesis but couldn’t bear to call it that.. instead called it my “thistle” and thankfully my advisor put up with me :) It was about 19th-c. re-wilding 🌿

Grateful @BrokenSpineArts.bsky.social is including my poem ‘3 AM’ in Glow: City at Night. I wrote it as a reflection on US foreign policy, after reading the news in this global digital city that never sleeps. (We all live there). Thanks editor @AlanParry83.bsky.social for taking a chance on my poem.

Another bit of flash fiction. mytholog.com/fiction/moss...

The other poem I wanted to share for #BonesOfTrust. Very much an 'epiphany poem' (& written in the Epiphany season no less :) From the same 2020 winter as my Friday poem, and somewhat related too. Dedicated to my mother, a caregiver. This poem is for her. 'Winter Wren.' @brokenspinearts.bsky.social
