Glad I made it to this excellent event. Charlotte Proudman’s book is a compelling exposé of the justice system’s treatment of women.

I CANNOT WAIT to talk with @drproudman.bsky.social about her essential new book, ‘He Said, She Said’ as part of @yorkfestofideas.bsky.social, this evening. Expect shocking stories & a massive rallying cry against gender injustice in the legal system. I’m chairing; I’ll try my hardest not to swear.

This is stunning. Beautiful, honest and compelling. Stops you in your tracks.

UNAPOLOGETICALLY wildly proud of 10yo for being awarded the school “kindness trophy” ❤️❤️❤️

The elephant in the room today was the two-child limit which is pushing child poverty to a new high on this government’s watch and leaving children without the life chances the Secretary of State wants for them. 1/3

I FORGOT THE GOLDEN RULE IN LAW: first things first, the DEADLINE. It is *31 May* - so soon, but there’s still time! Please spread the word!

Who *wouldn't* want full funding to do a PhD with any of our incredible academics at York Law School? Doing a PhD is so rewarding, and supervising is such a joy. Getting funding is a huge, and increasingly rare, opportunity. And York is LOVELY. www.york.ac.uk/law/study/fu...

Now do ALL GYNAECOLOGICAL PROCEDURES, plz. Stop routinising gynae violence.

*Why* does it matter that NOBODY in the UK currently knows whether or not they have Withdrawal Agreement based residence rights? A Court of Appeal judge asked this yesterday. IT MATTERS, as our evidence to the HoL European Affairs Committee explains, for 3 reasons (spolier alert: one is Windrush):

What do we need to do before creating shiny new UK-EU reset rules? Make existing rules work properly! Our *newly published* response to the HoL consultation highlights a giant problem facing EUSS holders: a COMPLETE ABSENCE of evidence of WA rights. committees.parliament.uk/writtenevide...

The Immigration White Paper is set on reducing net migration at all costs, including by blaming migrant workers for their own exploitation. While we work on more in-depth analysis, here’s our initial response.

Dr Alice Welsh's new monograph 'The Market Citizenship Illusion' is out now and is available open access. The book uses case studies of migrants in atypical work to argue that EU free movement rules are out of step with the new realities of work. Links and info below 👇 #Law #EU #WorkLaw #Action

It's bleak how my Enoch Powell epigraph for Marriage Material is now just mainstream political discourse in Britain

"We don't understand. We've tried everything; writing op-eds declaring the Far Right are bang on & repeating their slogans; giving speeches with all the Far Right buzz words & rhetoric; changing laws and policies to give effect to Far Right demands; and... STILL people want to vote Far Right??"

*Undermine* the opposition, don't *underline* them

We're now like THREE SHORT come on guys.
