We have only 3 spaces for EXECUTIVE PRODUCER credits on the crowdfund for JITTERS MOVIE!! These are the last ones to grab! So now is your chance! Who will claim them! Be a huge part of the making! www.indiegogo.com/projects/jit...

Spring progress. Noticing some of the Swiss chard from last year is still going. Musa velutina is starting to poke out of the soil. Yarrow has definitely established itself, and seems to be spreading again. 🌱

Reminder: I need to pick up mealworms. These anoles run around my gardens all year, and are very easy to feed (similar to tossing bread to birds). I help keep their numbers up as a type of natural pest control. Diurnal unfortunately, so they don't predate the herb wrecking nasties like earwigs 🌱

Inspired by cooking class, I decided to pick up more kitchen stuff. Was a bit overwhelmed by the selection of cooking wines, so I just selected a couple that looked cool. Also found a 7 qt staub dutch oven on sale.

Three different oreganos, right before spring. Will be fun to watch these burst to life in a couple of months. 🌱

Garden sorrel is the only thing still growing in my back yard. I moved it from the front last year because it was too big, but it partially died. Beds in the front are closest to the kitchen, so I needed the space for tomatoes. Will probably return to form once irrigation gets sorted out. 🌱

Dedicated thyme bed. I have never been able to get this plant to grow on purpose, and it seems to thrive on neglect. It wasn't nearly this big or tall last year.

I'm re-doing this post because I walked outside to my porch for some fresh air, and... speak of the devil lol. One of the parts arrived!

Establishing the mise en place. Trying last night's recipe again, but this time with larger cuts of chicken and longer marination time. Not sure what to serve it with, but open to suggestions.

Made "Asian themed wings" (mashup not specific to a country) and lychee sherbet last night for cooking class. Had a long delay waiting for the sherbet to finish and the wings to marinate, so we also threw in creamy mashed potatoes. Topped the potatoes with the furikake I bought the other day.

Every year, loblolly pine volunteers make their way into my pots and grow beds. I had a few that grew in empty pots I left sitting on my back deck. Eventually reclaimed the pots, but kept one for the heck of it. At this point, may as well plant it. They get ridiculously tall, so unsure where 😬 🌱

Getting off to a late start this spring. While taking inventory of my trays and nursery pots, I discovered dead plants that may have germinated after the main batches went outdoors last year (or I simply forgot they were there). Guess I should have kept checking my grow enclosures lol 🌱

Different kinds of chives I'm growing. These were started from seed, and are about three to four years old at this point. With the exception of black aphids occasionally chewing up the garlic chives, these some of my most low maintenance herbs. 🌱

Bought a new vehicle today, but not on purpose. Brought my little 2016 fit in for service, found out it would cost the bluebook value to fix, and left with a 2025 CR-V sport hybrid. There was a beautiful Civic Type R sitting in the showroom too, but I make frequent trips to home depot.... so nope

Cooking class today was duck ragu. Used a semolina flour recipe instead of AP flour to make the pasta. The dough was do easy to work with that I'm sticking with semolina going forward.

Trying a "dry hot pot" for the first time. It's very heavily seasoned, savory, and kind of hot. I'll definitely be back.

Picking up junk food and seasonings I've been needing.

Taking inventory of which beds need to be topped off with fresh soil this year. I have 18 total - all roughly the same size, and four more in the garage I need to build. Last year's tomato bed is the only one that looks OK. 🌱

Another early spring pic: Russian Tarragon. I actually like the way this plant tastes (reminds me of celery). I'm noticing how the rhizomes occupy much more square footage since last year - as evidenced by the little starts perking up away from the main cluster. 🌱

Yarrow making it's return. This patch was actually massive at one point and took up half of an 8'x4' raised bed. I eventually transplanted it to a different bed (pic with the purple flowers was prior to epic spread), and the entire clump shriveled and died... or so I thought. Looks like it's back 🌱

At a crossroad trying to decide what direction to take my BS account. My interests are gardening, tech, cooking, and general maker related stuff. The tech part may stay on Mastadon due to the 250 character limit, but we'll see.

More pics from cooking class . Learning to make fresh pasta

Boy did I miss instagram! I quit a couple of years ago when it became too choked up with trash content. Looks like it's back

Another book arrives

I think this is the only faction within the Imperium of man I would ever potentially play. More interested in heretics and xenos.

What have I done. This is bad. I can feel my mind... my very soul slipping away. Something calling to me. A voice whispering... I can't quite make out what it's saying.

Contributing to the flood of mushroom pics. Here are some Chanterelles I found in the yard a couple of years ago :)

Just deleted my Facebook account. The wall of newsfeed spam was too much. Getting rid of google next.
