This is Primula vialii in my garden last year in May. Every year I plant it and it flowers and disappears. I have just planted some more. If you can, don't ever give up those small things which bring you pleasure. 🌱 #bloomscrolling #gardens #plants

What with the weather and world news I'm in need of some floral cheer and this week's #cheeringupmondays is very welcome. These beauties have been brightening my garden for weeks regardless of wind, rain frost and snow. Dainty but tough! More: https://buff.ly/4h4tpEJ 🌱 💚 #greenheart

Rock House at Elberton, South Gloucestershire, has its second snowdrop opening on Sunday Feb 2 from 11-4pm. This two-acre country garden has woodland with naturalised bulbs. Entry is £5. Details: https://buff.ly/4gIUHQG 🌱 💚 #greenheart

Pretty flowers from my wildflower garden 🌱 I wouldn’t buy a wildflower mix again because it contained flowers that weren’t native to my area and they also weren’t listed on the bag. Disappointing, but live and learn! #flowers #bloomscrolling #garden #gardening #zone5b

The seed catalogues have arrived but alas winter shows no signs of leaving. Here’s some old favorites to hold us all over till spring. 🫠 🌱 #gardening

Reposting one of my favorite videos. A bumblebee taking in the magnificent blooms of my Japanese Snowbell tree. 🌱

It’s nice to have a bit of colour in the garden 🌱🌸

Today's native plant is red columbine, Aquilegia canadensis. You've seen its colorful, fluffy European cousins in nurseries. But our native is also a beauty, hanging like tiny red and yellow blown-glass lanterns on long stems. 🧵 (Part of a series on garden-friendly #nativeplants in Eastern USA) 🌱🌎

Just a reminder that spring will be here before you know it. 🌱

I don’t do #NoMowMay anymore, but I do #NoMowSummer , cutting lawns to 3 different lengths to ensure a #Mowsaic of #Wildflowers #Fungi #Biodiversity & #Habitat for #Insects & #Pollinators More insects = More #Birds #Bats #Hedgehogs #Amphibians #GardeningForWildlife #WildflowerLawn

An accidental Glamour Shot I took of some annual winecups, Callirhoe leiocarpa, last summer. The Callirhoe genus contains nine species that are native to the South-central US. They all share this intense magenta coloring except for C. alcaeoides, which is a nice rosé. #MagentaMonday #nativeplants 🌱

This little campanula has been blooming non-stop since the summer. 🌱📸 #Flowers #Garden #Photography

Beginner-friendly Mid-Atlantic native plants 🌱 series #7: Joe Pye, Eutrochium sp. These guys are incredible nectar plants. Butterfly faves. I also think of this plant as the eastern US native plant gardener's banner: tall, proud, instantly recognizable.

You don't need a fancy set up to grow herbs indoors all year round 🌱💚
