Much of my writing has been about how having real world responsibility matters I am not saying this message below is enough, but for the first time in his life, RFK can’t wish away measles as a hoax. Reality forced his hand. I am sure he didn’t want to do this.

For anyone navigating the world of patient engagement, a recording of a panel I was recently on has just been released. I recommend checking it out. www.child-bright.ca/event-listin...

Google has released a new AI tool that it says will give scientists 'superpowers' by assisting with literature searches and generating new hypotheses, but does it live up to the hype?

Ooof. That last statement resonates with me after finishing Apple Cider Vinegar on Netflix.

Wow how come no one tried this yet?

The CPHO put out an official report "Realizing the Future of Vaccination for Public Health". I'm pleased to see lack of access for disabled people mentioned as one of the barriers associated with vaccine uptake. /1

The experience of partnering with researchers is one that many find to be both hard work and personally gratifying. Have questions about family engagement? Leave it in the comments.#patient #healthcare #research #science #patientengagement #familyengagement

💔 The disparity in #ChildhoodCancer cure rates is staggering: 📈 More than 80% cure rate in high-income countries 📉 Less than 30% in most low- & middle-income countries. Ensuring equal access to care is the key to saving lives 👉 bit.ly/4hPDeWN

"The best and the worst thing about vaccination is that it 'makes nothing happen.' A child successfully inoculated against measles doesn’t fall sick with that condition, doesn’t miss school, doesn’t go to the hospital. They don’t suffer life-changing complications. They don’t die prematurely."

Even if your children are abled, please continue to write the education minister and remind them that education is a human right for all kids. #abpoli

My many years of disability advocacy have highlighted the shocking disparities between provinces. Its been especially heartbreaking to watch the UCP dismantle FSCD, a system people used to move here for, as well as our health care and public education. We need federal oversight.

If you’re a #Canadian with an invested interest in #disability policy, this may be of interest. A report was released today with an interest in creating a baseline for tracking the development and state of disability policies in #Canada province by province. kidsbrainhealth.ca/disability-p...

I took my mother to the Aging Well clinic. I masked; she asked if she should. I explained that it wasn’t required, but it was definitely a good idea, since so many viruses are circulating. She put on a KN95 I found in her purse. 1/

I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service. “Pausing” grants means people don’t eat.

Five years ago today, Jan. 25, 2020, Canada's first case of SAR-CoV-2 was confirmed, a 50-year-old Toronto man who just returned from Wuhan, China. He was treated at Sunnybrook. Since then, more than 60,000 Canadians have died of #COVID19. www.thestar.com/news/gta/how...

Elizabeth Warren: "This disclosure shows that R.F.K. Jr. made millions off of peddling dangerous anti-vaccine conspiracies" "Even worse, if he is confirmed, his finances will still be tied to the outcomes of anti-vaccine lawsuits — even as he’d be tasked with regulating them as health secretary.”

Watching the livestream of “How healthy is Canada’s Information Environment? Action in the Face of Misinformation” Excellent talk! One thing that is top of mind for me is building our skills in how we interact with that environment. Health literacy is one thing. Comprehension is another.

They really do need to see this.

This is so profoundly disappointing.

We have almost no domestic vaccine manufacturing capacity in Canada: one Sanofi plant in Toronto, that’s it It was supposed to change during the pandemic but it didn’t. Most of our vaccines come from the IS, which suddenly doesn’t feel like solid bedrock
