Been seeing patients this week and feeling useful. Tonight I'm hitting up Costco and indulging in the food court after. Little acts of support and resistance are the lifeline of moving forward.

Lost in the utter stupidity of trying to absorb Canada into the U.S.A. is the fact that it would be so dumb to make it one state. If we're going to entertain this idiocy, at least recognize that we would keep the existing provinces and territories and convert those to states.

An unelected South African has taken control of the US Treasury and is deciding to stop payments on American obligations, in violation of numerous court orders, and admits in the Oval Office that he has done so upon incorrect information, while the President sits impotently behind the Resolute Desk.

Thinking how about the USAID programs and how Abraham begged God to show mercy to Soddom if there were just ten good people, while so many US Christians are quick to demand hellfire and sulfur if there is just one “wrong type of person” needing aid.

This is how banana republics work: “Interim leaders at the Justice Department have spent the past week drawing up lists of people whose work at the bureau has earned disfavor with Trump for a variety of reasons.” www.cnn.com/2025/01/31/p...

all I know is that had President Biden forced out the FAA chief under pressure from his top adviser and his corrupt motives, and then the next week there was a plane crash that killed more than 60 people, Republicans would be howling that it was an impeachable offense.

The guy from The Apprentice, who hired a Fox weekend host to run the Pentagon and a cast member from the Real World to run the FAA (the two agencies associated with the incident) says the real cause of a deadly plain crash is DEI.

remember stuff like this when they tell you that diversity means a lowering of standards

Guys, I can't believe this. This whole time, St. Paul endorsed the despicable sin of empathy. He even said we shouldn't keep our mercy and service exclusively to other Christians, but should "love our enemies?!?!" I don't know how we can allow Romans 12 to remain part of God's Word.

I think I used to be disappointed at Easter and Christmas only church goers because they weren't connected to the consistency of the body of Christ. But I'm realizing there are Easter and Christmas Christians filling the pews every Sunday.

1. Trump's immigration crackdown is premised on the idea that the US is experiencing a massive surge in violent crime According to Trump the crime wave is especially severe in cities THIS IS A LIE New data shows crime is LOWER than when Trump left office in 2020, and below pre-pandemic levels

This morning my 4-year-old and 6-year-old fought over a cup of water and it was honestly incredible to see that even they were more diplomatic about it than our current president.

This is a violation of the constitution. Congress determines how to spend money. The executive must spend it.

This is an excellent point. These are people famously unwilling to sacrifice for the good of the country. How long will the endure high prices as "for the greater good?"

Imagine a world where you never learned or tried anything new, you just kept pushing the button for another pellet like a rat.

Also, if you think empathy is a sin, you're probably worshipping the wrong savior.

If you look at a nonwhite non-male in a prominent position and you think "DEI hire," congrats. You are officially racist and prejudiced. No nuance on that one, you are wrong, you are being cruel, and frankly being plain dumb. God didn't design a brain for you to choose not to use it.

Psalm 52. Trust me. It hits real good right now. But it also makes me ask, "When, Lord? WHEN?!?!"

If scientific research doesn't commit to gathering a diverse and representative sample, it is useless. These complete imbeciles are waging a culture war that will cost lives and set us back years (if not decades) in cancer research. Isn't anyone on the right angry about this?!?

Mercy and compassion are often dismissed because they are seen as weak. But both require exponentially more strength than anger, judgment, and self-inflated posturing. Those are the natural inclination of flesh and instinct, while compassion and mercy are dedicated fruits of a Christlike heart.

The same people having a temper tantrum over DEI just confirmed the least qualified Secretary of Defense in US history because Trump liked him on TV.

I cannot recall a president ever threatening to withhold disaster relief as political leverage. But this is what an autocrat does. He pardons thugs and exploits suffering.

If you are looking to cultivate a heart of mercy, there are some key elements:

Can't wait for when the doofus mandates that everyone's federal tax returns be paid out in Trump Coin. The grift is right in front of our face.

Sometimes you're reminded of the goodness of God by being greeted by a kind gentleman, sitting on a bench at the park, telling you his dogs name is Daniel, while listening to Yellow Ledbetter.

Growing up in evangelical circles, I was led to believe it was atheists and cruel Democrats who were the ones out to persecute the church. Now I know it's actually large swaths of people who claim to follow Christ but are reviled at his word when it calls them to account. Which tracks w/ Scripture.

Dan absolutely nails it here.

We just had this whole election cycle about how inflation is the unforgivable political sin, which no other widely felt benefit can counterbalance, and it’s discarded two days into the new administration.

I fear too many of us are falling for the same mistake the people of ancient Israel did: we desire a warrior Messiah who will enshrine us with political power and drop wrath on our enemies...

If your ideology causes you to lose compassion and love, you have veered off the narrow path of Jesus. I fall off the path and stumble CONSTANTLY. I am need of constant confession, prayer, and meditation to recommit to the narrow life of love and service to God and neighbor.

If your Christianity has you more concerned with the borders of your country rather than the borders around your heart, you may have a problem. Christianity
