Build tech skills incrementally: Start with ONE feature in Word/Excel that impacts your daily work. Perfect it, then add another. Technological competence isn't about knowing everything—it's about knowing which tools solve YOUR specific challenges.

I didn't sleep very well last night and was rewarded this morning by getting to spend some quality (and loud) time in the shower with my feline boss to attend to some...cleaning needs. SO much fun. 10/10 (do not) recommend.

AI tools are not all the same. They do not all operate the same way nor are they trained on the same set of data. This is why experimenting with a variety of them is crucial for understanding the differences and learning which, if any, is right for you and what you are doing.

Technological competence starts with mastering the "basics," and not simply jumping to AI. Tech-augmented law practice isn't just about adopting new technology - it's also about mastering the tools we already have at our disposal.

This is your periodical reminder that Orcas are apex predators. There is a reason why they are often called Killer Whales.

Microsoft apparently came up with a new phase of matter and yet can't seem to come up with a better version of Teams.

Artificial Intelligence is not new technology. People seem to forget or not realize this. It started being conceptualized in the 1940s and then more broadly thought/analyzed during the 1950's.

I often think about the cultural impacts of technology upon the legal industry. What seems to be happening, slowly, but surely, is the the emergence of what might be termed "computational legal thinking" - a place where technological data-infused analysis and human judgment converge.

I often think that the cases of made-up cases submitted in a brief by lawyers is less about AI and more about lawyers not adhering to the motto of trust, but verify.

Want better #AI answers? Make it debate itself. Give it a role—expert, skeptic, visionary—then challenge both sides. Push past easy answers. The best insights come from friction, from the space between “yes” and “but what if?” AI is a conversation. And the best ones spark breakthroughs. #legaltech

For too long law schools have focused their efforts solely around teaching students the history, theory, and evolution of the law. What law students need to be learning in addition to context is HOW law is practiced, meaning, practical skills and applying them.
