I’m very excited to get back to “productive” baseball conversations. The mariners did nothing, and most likely are doing nothing to fix this lineup and that fucking sucks. I wish we had more to talk / read about other than the doom and gloom. Here’s hoping to an exciting camp.

Growing up is realizing that a good comparison to the Mariners isn’t the Orioles, but is the Pirates. Sailing themed teams with great young pitchers who are being wasted on bad offense due to cheap owners not wanting to spend. *insert sad pirate noise*

Pitcher and catcher report in 14 days. The mariners still need a 3rd baseman minimum. I’m hoping that the slim signing yesterday is a sign that the infielder market is heating up. The slow slog of waiting on Bregman has been absolutely abysmal.

Yesterday on 710 Sports Brock and Salk discussed how they don’t want Bohm. While I can see the negatives, they chose to reject any and all upside potential, such as looking at consistency in offensive stats and instead choosing to look solely on WAR which mainly reflected his defensive instability.

If the Mariners are going to only add two bats, and one of those is Turner/Santana, it makes sense to get a 3rd baseman and go in-house for 2nd. Trouble is, that 3rd baseman has to be a slam dunk if you want to improve. 2nd will have better defense but questionable offense. 1st is running it back.

If I were the mariners, trying to court Roki, I would bring in your starters and have those guys do the talking. 5 different backgrounds all at different levels, who all support and encourage one another. What better way to convince Roki he’d be accepted and develpoed.

Mariners fans are wild sometimes. Ownership will straight up tell you that payroll is going up but mostly due to arb eligible players and then lose their shit when a month later, it is reported that they aren’t going to spend a lot of money. Like…? Yeah, they already said that. Sucks but not news.

I am totally fine running it back with Justin Turner as a DH 1st base rotator. He clearly provided a lot on and off the field. He took the position Haniger was supposed to. However, this should NOT be considered one of the 2 added bats. This is a LATERAL move. Give me a fix for 2nd and 3rd.
