US power plants will be allowed to pollute nearby communities and the wider world with more unhealthy air toxins and an unlimited amount of planet-heating gases under new regulatory rollbacks.

Peaceful protest against ICE in Spokane is happening at 411 W Cataldo after the detainment of a young man who went to his hearing. Over a dozen protestors are sitting in front of the bus , prepared to be arrested. The bus windshield has been spray painted

Thames Water is collapsing. NO BAILOUTS for the shareholders and banks who caused this mess. Tell the government to take it into public ownership PERMANENTLY and protect the public interest. #WeOwnIt weownit.org.uk/act-now/brin...

In a society of immigrants, probably the dumbest thing you could do as a government is to attack and undermine immigrants without following strict due process. Guaranteed epic fail. Then doubling down on it with violence is exceptionally counter-productive even in its own terms.

Trump has no idea how counter-productive his actions will be. The research, even on LA street conflicts alone, let alone the rest of the world, shows that the the suppression of dissent will sustain increased resistance to his brutal policies. Neanderthal! He will take the United out of the USA.

www.opendemocracy.net/en/just-stop... "conspiracy to cause a public nuisance" - wtf is that? So it wasn't in itself a public nuisance then? Just a group chat? JuststopOIl should rename themselves JustStopTalking. The state is criminalising protest. Instead it should address what they protest about!

I can no longer vote for the only political party I could vote for - because they support the fascist & genocidal Israeli state - so, as I'm sure others feel this way, should we accept that we are no longer in an age of political representation by the state? So, is it a state or a chaos of voices?

Caught lobbying for cash or bullying in Parliament? You can still return to the House of Lords - for life. No real consequences. No accountability. Sign now to kick rule-breakers out for good. you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/ba...

This thief is still a member of the House of Lords ! She still has OUR money.

Have you tried not being genocidal child killers?

“It asserts a fundamental principle that the ruler is subject to the law.. .If he wants to act against you, he has to do so by legal process. It’s the foundation stone of the western tradition of law and democracy.” Prof David Carpenter on discovering Harvard's copy of Magna Carta wasn't a copy.

Is Starmer clueless or a Tory? How does he think an "island of strangers" would behave? Form a loving set of monasteries? Here Prots killed Catholics. Would those wanting selfish alienation kill socialists? US history: the immigrants slaughtered the natives. So, rivers of blood are implied.

Starmer can't see that talking of "strangers", implying immigrants must integrate, was both unnecessary and counter-productive? Also too general. Tapping into the fears of the declining, old, white working-class looks politically inept: Farage plays that tune. Job-specific regs. & welcome culture!

"But a proposed new levy on foreign students risks undermining them, weakening their [universities - CS] soft power. This seems madness: more than a quarter of the world’s countries have leaders who were educated here in Britain. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

'cheap foreign labour causes our major problems' - Labour now aligned with xenophobic ideology. Sell that to the USA, Keir! Or Canada! Or Australia! After Brexit, the truth is that the UK caused all its own problems and deployed immigrants to solve them before expelling them for no good reason.

Starmer's fear of "island of strangers" is divide and rule. But his use of Powell's xenophobic stoking of fears should not deflect from the fact that the PM himself is a now a stranger to our diverse, class-ridden but polyglot nation. Individuation is not caused by immigrants, but by capitalism.

Bribery in plain sight.

"Kennedy’s disgust with and devaluation of autistic people fits neatly into a eugenic logic that views health as virtue, and sees illness, or difference, as a kind of moral lapse which should be subject to punishment or censure."

JD Vance practices a gangster form of persuasion: threaten and insult all those countries the US wants to have, or compete for, deals with: “I believe that if India and the United States... fail to work together successfully, the 21st century could be a very dark time for all of humanity."

Thousands take to the streets across US to protest Trump and Musk policies: ‘They flaunt their criminality’

Farage wants to fuck over farmers in the same way that he fucked over fishermen. Is there nothing British he isn't willing to sell out? www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Labour: the party at war with our working classes, which always included the unemployed, disabled and vulnerable; the party standing by the Israeli colonial genocide after accused the popular Corbyn of anti-semitism. UK only has Greens left with any credibility. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Never mind free market Conservatism. More like freeloading Conservatism from Kemi Badenoch. The Tory leader claims £2,700 per month (£32.4k a year) for her 2nd home in Essex 50 miles from Westminster. And she claims £4,000 a year council tax on expenses. www.essexlive.news/news/essex-n...

This is the authoritarian ratchet. If Trump can, in defiance of the Supreme Court, arbitrarily "disappear" non-citizens in El Salvador, anyone else could be next — including journalists who report on his administration.

Crime as an American way of life (Bell 1953): will Trump's engineered insider trading go unpunished? Do ordinary Americans realise they voted for someone to steal from them and their savings through market manipulation? Do they know his track record of failure, bankruptcy and cheating in business?

The reputation of the House of Lords is already in the gutter - more political allies and party donors being added only damages its reputation further. Add your name to our letter. secure.unlockdemocracy.org.uk/page/169621/...

Democrats are bashing Trump for sharing market advice with his Truth Social followers hours before announcing a 90-day pause on most of his sweeping tariffs, elevating calls for a ban on congressional stock trading. Rep. Mike Levin questioned on social media, "How is this not market manipulation?"

It took a week for the plunge in the stock and bond markets—along with a sustained campaign by executives, lawmakers, lobbyists and foreign leaders—to spur President Trump to change course on tariffs.

Reading organised chaos: Trump's pull-back so predictable. 1] It was forced anyway by rising bond prices; 2] it gave cronies chance to buy stocks low & sell higher later; 3] his lies, ideas and calculations were always going to be [a] wrong and [b] incalculable so therefore v. scary to all; 4] Musk.

Trump & Vance et all demonstrate that social censure or abusive insults are today not geared to shoring up any political or moral hegemony, nor even to secure class domination. Censures have become weapons inside a sociopathic ideology with little obvious moral value or reference to social reality.

Hey Elon, who's the moron for supporting this infantile moron? Trump the billionaire mocks the poorest countries who have no choice but to kiss the ring, which only a moron would think works to produce sustainable deals. Also, what a total jerk! Vance too! www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...

Tax cut for Musk, Bezos and other tech billionaires on the table, Starmer confirms. NO. People suffering cuts in benefits; NHS queues; crumbling infrastructure whilst the richest rewarded. Mustn't capitulate to Trump's bullying. archive.ph/AjYc7

So there’s not enough money for public services, benefits & schools, but there IS enough money to give tax cuts to people who don’t need them? Starmer is a spineless liar & a disgrace to the legacy of the Labour Party. Keir Hardie would weep if he could see what has become of Labour.

Mississippi officials aren’t acting out of ignorance. This is an ideological warfare. This is a deliberate, authoritarian purge of academic research to enforce a worldview rooted in control and erasure. Shameful. Cowardly. Fascist. #AcademicSky mississippitoday.org/2025/04/08/m...

Why can't the US find an effective anti-LizTruss mechanism to remove/keep narcissistic sociopaths from office? It only took the UK 44 days to get her out. However we still haven't discovered the mental illness that enables her to keep on dribbling out this BS! www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...
