California senator @senalexpadilla physically dragged off for trying to ask Kristi Noem a question…

Trying to compare ERIC with AVID nearly always gets the same reaction, which is someone scolding me not to do that. But it's hard not to at least try, considering that members of one are leaving for the other. New from me: statescoop.com/eric-avid-el...

This work, led by @waldo.net, did not get enough attention. I keep bringing it up to state IT officials and some of them still don't know about it. It's a low-tech, common-sense solution to a major problem in state government: statescoop.com/summary-shee...

Articles like this one from @peter-wehner.bsky.social are a nice reminder that not everyone on the political right has lost his mind. But that so many Republicans have so readily reversed course on their core beliefs is a troubling fact that does not inspire hope

IRS’s Direct File wasn't open source while it was being developed. But somebody just made it public!

Wait, so government isn't a startup??

"Virtually all of the top officials at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) have departed the agency or will do so this month" Doesn't sound great. www.cybersecuritydive.com/news/cisa-se...

I implore people to think about what Memorial Day means, and then think about…this

Deficits are good, right? "Tax provisions approved by the House Ways and Means Committee would extend and expand major components of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which we estimate will increase primary deficits by $4,561 billion ($4.6 trillion)" budgetmodel.wharton.upenn.edu/issues/2025/...

The Philadelphia School District has lost $700,000 to a cyber scam, city and school system officials announced Thursday. The payments have not been recovered.

Why is Kristi Noem asking governors to build SCIFs? No one I spoke with had any idea. New from me: statescoop.com/kristi-noem-...

New from @keelyquinlan.bsky.social, state AGs say proposed measure to preempt state #AI laws would be "wholly destructive of reasonable state efforts to prevent known harms associated with AI.” statescoop.com/state-attorn...
