my 6 year old who doesn't know a lot about minecraft got a small creeper toy from a happy meal and she has decided that it's name is "Minecraft" and it likes to hear people talk about mines

Reskeet with an image of your favorite James Bond (wrong answers only)

Me thinking: huh, I instantly dislike this random relative's boyfriend. Wonder what that's about? Another relative: oh, he works for ICE. But just in IT. Me thinking: Ah, there it is.

i will give you a secret: studying aside, there is not a special kind of person for whom drawing takes less work!! there are only people who put the work in even when it's super hard and doesn't turn out the way they wanted it to, because they enjoy it despite these drawbacks, and people who don't

I hate it here

Called my congressman who voted for the SAVE act. Me: What documents will I need to vote if this passes? Staffer: a DL and birth certificate. Me: The documents don’t match Staffer: Then a marriage certificate. Me: Will my husband need the marriage certificate too? Staffer: No Me: See the problem?

Set my alarm for 4:30am because air travel was a mistake.

A horror story in fewer than 10 words: "All lanes of I-5 detoured thought Steilacoom DuPont Road"

I'm obsessed with this, I talk about it constantly. The sun will blow up and I'll be at work.

Me: so there's this trend going around where people ask "how did you survive the 2008 crash, and don't just say eat beans" Spouse: but that's how you do it, you eat beans Me: yeah! Or like, I lived in a gross house with way too many roommates Spouse: the beans are a metaphor for suffering

“Be cool” is perhaps the most panic-inciting phrase a president of the United States could post. You know who tells you to “be cool?” Your drug dealer, right after he narcs on you.

Our biggest problem as a society is we've decided wealth is a proxy for intelligence -- when in reality, an overabundance of money causes your brain to cease functioning

For #PortfolioDay meet Microraptor :) I made this two-page comic for my friend @deniscomix.bsky.social's Mesozine Issue 3. For this story, I was inspired by a children's book my toddler likes to read about an owl who is hunting for his next meal, Hoot Owl Master of Disguise. #comics #dinosaurs

Okay...I'm changing my mind about the wolves.

Me: I'm worried about the dire wolves. Spouse: in what way? Me: that we're gonna get into a Jurassic Park situation, but with wolves. Spouse: okay, here's the thing; no.

Hey King County people, how are you voting on Prop 1? There was no statement submitted for the opposition, but uh...I don't know that I want a "regional automated fingerprint identification system" given the state of (gestures to everything). Anyone more knowledgeable on this want to chime in?

We could fund the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) for 150 years for the same amount as this assault on humanity and decency will cost.

Yesterday there was a post for Free Members, and today here's one for Paid Members:

Printed matter is supposed to be exempt from tariffs. But of course it's more complicated than that! "We are in a universe where what the US government has said is true no longer appears to bear any relation to reality." www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/... and www.rascal.news/tabletop-pub...

What

I'm back after a month off, with a post for Free Members www.patreon.com/posts/126096...

They say that five million people protested Trump this weekend. They now say that those protesters were paid. Five million people paid to protest. Question: If someone had money to pay off five million people to protest, why wouldn’t they cut the middle man and simply buy congress

HUMAN ARTISTS, use only one piece to convince people to follow you

if you’re an artist who ever thought “what’s the point? The world is Hell and I should do something that matters instead” even in an ICE detention center people will treat art as sacred, seek it out, and find joy and comfort in it. You aren’t making art, you’re making hope.

"Notably, HarperCollins, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. was the only Big Five publisher not to sign the letter." 📚

I'm really curious to find out how many people were at Seattle Center today. It's the biggest protest I've been a part of since, uh, January 2017.

Just based on loud bus conversations, there sure are a lot of old white people who consider themselves conservative "but this has just gone too far" headed to Seattle 's protest today. Welcome to the resistance, your homemade "no kings" sign is cute.

artificial scarcity is a con. if corporations had to donate unsold food, clothing, & furniture instead of dumping them in landfills, the prices we pay would reflect their actual value & demand. why do we allow corporate entities to own empty houses, when there are real people here without homes.

Things are mostly bad, but it's not all bad

It would be really great if someone wanted to nominate my new books KNOTS for the Ringo award for Best Kids Comic or Graphic Novel (it's a fan nominated category) ringoawards.com

Keep thinking about the youths I overheard in a coffee shop months ago who were like "the only streaming service I have anymore is Dropout because at least they're not an evil corporation". And like...yeah.

the best part about being a cartoonist/game dev is the part where you do the cartooning/game dev the worst part is having to psychically intuit the functions of a marketing expert and small business owner while I have the brain of a small FPS-playing trout

Hey, Cantwell does something!
