this is an act of unspeakable violence. it benefits no one, it doesn’t move a number on a balance sheet. it only guarantees that every one of these incarcerated transgender people will be tortured.

This was the moment, just over a month ago, when the ADL could've put an end to Republicans doing Nazi salutes. They didn't. They chose instead to provide cover by calling it "an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm." Now the sieg heil salute has been normalized. The ADL literally had ONE JOB.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Some thoughts on this, in no particular order. 1.) The Ukrainians were initially willing to give some level of mineral rights to the US for support; the Trump administration instead pushed for a massive grab of those rights and tried to force Zelenskyy into it with a late-night "sign this" move.
