In Austin this week. Listen, I appreciate made at table guacamole as much as the next man, but there should be a premade option for those flying solo who want some guac, but are seeking as little interaction as possible. I knew better, but watching another poor soul suffer social death by avocado.

Figure Study Sunday. …. (This is where I post my figure drawing for the week. BSky sometimes slaps the “sexually suggestive” label on these, but they’re just life drawings.) My drawing style is naturally cartoony, honestly)

💜 Happy Caturday 💛

For layout & paneling, @javierrodriguez.bsky.social is somebody I never get tired of studying. Maybe the best doing it today.

This made my day. Go check out Lucio’s music, & you’ll soon be rooting for Italy to win this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

QRT with your human made art!

Comic boooooooooooks.

Operation 50 Comic Shops in 52 Weeks Continues - @fourcolorfantasies.bsky.social (Shop #13)! In the last 5 years, they've raised 40K for the Literacy Volunteers of Winchester, Va through their Charity Sketch Cover Auction. The 2025 Edition launches on 4/1. So many good pieces of OG art this year.

What a wonderful comic.

As someone who likes to write earnest characters you want to root for, I couldn't agree more. Not that we need everything sprinkled with sugar, but obviously there is a large population of the country that didn't realize they weren't supposed to root for the villains.

Sophie Campbell's cartoon Cassandra Cain from the Kelly Thompson-written BIRDS OF PREY Vol. 2: WORLDS WITHOUT END is the most adorable the character has looked since Art Baltazar drew her in the pages of TINY TITANS.

Watching this was a great way to start the weekend!

Post you from a different era...

I have one year gift subscriptions to my patreon available to other cartoonists who are interested in seeing my stuff. Message me if you're interested. Happy to take a gift membership to yours in return but it's not necessary. This offer good until I decide it's not!

My top 3: 1) In college, this P. Burke piece pushed my color exploration to new places. 2) I worked w/ a painting professor who should me how Maxfield Parish got his rich colors 3) Approaching figure drawing as animators do, taught by a friend who had studied w/ the “ 9 old men”

Found out that TWENTY emails is considered a lot to politicians on an issue. TWENTY. As in, they call that getting slammed. So next time you see a request to email your rep, or call, keep that in mind. TWENTY is a lot.
