Went to the ancestral river and got to walk the route barefoot then dip our feet in the water while they spoke blessings over us. Then we held hands with each other and welcomed one another back. Our guide said this is where the spiritual healing can begin. It was powerful. I’ll never forget it.

It’s crazy because I was standing in baggage claim with both of them and one of the ladies was telling me how she had to pack more bags than she wanted since her clothes are bigger and they can’t fit in suitcases the same which has been my experience too. they’ve been so calm about it.

10 of the PhD students haven’t had any luggage this whole time (united fucking sucks) but it was two plus size girlies and they needed white outfits for the renaming ceremony and I’m so glad I had extra and could lend them. Cause I knew nobody was gonna have anything for them. SMH
