John & Gotti, getting irritated and acerbic. We cook, we meow, we listen to music, world news, and The Golden Age of Radio. All parts played by members of the cast. https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:sdkxyw2r7xlx5kjhsolgagv6/feed/aaaoqxlqqoqfy

Veg for the chilli. What else can I procrastinate with? Weed the garden? If I had a car I could drain the oil, and replace the filter. Bedroom fan needs a complete strip down.. if that’s possible. Looks there’s burnt grease on the bearings. Cheap shit, how much more would it cost to use proper oil?

Put some of my go-to picker-upper music on.

Really unmotivated to draw this layout, easier than fighting with software, but still such a faff.

Bugger.

Powerful sliced bread hate at Sainsbury’s yesterday, judging by the state of my loaf. I expect it got shouted at for not being grateful it was going to be eaten too.

Happy St. Dai’s day! Sharpen your leek for your lapel.

“A day like today makes a man feel like a midweek bath!” Says Chester.

There was a lovely Samoan vet on Twit that I was friendly with. She was always very helpful with advice for the cats. And full of interesting stuff about her job in Oz. I think she left SM completely through, I suspect she was fed up with the trolling.

Paladin is doing lumberjack stuff tonight, and now a chinook is blowing in, and he has a plan. It’s all spar trees, skid jams, black powder, and other manly stuff.

Worked out I need to take £80 p/m out of my grocery budget to cover Gotti’s new food requirements. Otherwise it’s just eating (lol) into her emergency fund, and that even more important than ever for her rn. Should be able to reduce my bill by £20 a week, ignoring inflation, as they say.

I’m not saying I’m having a midlife crisis, but I recently turned 50, joined the local Kiwanis club, joined a co-ed adult ice hockey team, and adopted three more cats.

I gave Gotti a pouch of a different normal food today, to change it up a bit. Now she’s playing up, wanting another one. She can only have renal food as second breakfast, I think otherwise it’s just going to accelerate her kidney damage, if I understand correctly. It’s so hard to decide for others.

Making chilli tomorrow, for the weekend. That will be good. I seem to have collected a whole lot of tins of kidney beans in the cupboard. I tend to buy 2 cans when they’re on special. These KTC ones are far better, and cheaper than the own brand ones.

The Santa Fe sheriff reckons they can’t determine if Hackman and his wife have been dead for days or weeks. What kind of hermetic environment were they in? Presumably the 2 living dogs must have been eating the bodies, or they would be bloody thin by now. There must be some clues.

Would love to believe what happened in the Oval Office today will get any appreciable domestic reaction but you and I both know the ignorant chuds who voted for that asshole are lapping this shit up right now.

That it for 1/6 of 2025. Could’ve been worse, and quite possibly will be.

Seems strange that “Broadway’s My Beat” was sponsored by Wrigley’s gum at one point. A company I’ve always associated with Chicago, sponsoring a quintessentially New York show. Perhaps there was nothing set in Chicago at the time.

Not really a great deal.

Basic layout, minus a fuse board I have to make, the support channel, and a hell of a lot of wiring. Now to transfer that to paper, so I can produce a drilling and cutting plan.

😳

Received this just now. The parcel was delivered at 6pm last night. The words arse and elbow spring to mind.

Well that’s groceries out the way. Sandwich and tomato juice for breakfast. Looks like a nice, if chilly, day again. Back to the drawing board (literally) for me, I think. Need to work on a layout.

I’m remarkably limber after my housecleaning session yesterday. Just wish my feet weren’t so painful the whole time, but we can’t have everything, can we? I think having my blood sugar under control, and less importantly, loosing a bit of weight has made a big difference.

Trying to spell Connecticut before I’ve got my brain in.

News full of the Starmer/Trump schmooze-fest. Brushing aside all the bullshit, there doesn’t seem to be anything of substance.

The grass is sparkly with frost this morning. Must be lovely and crunchy to walk on.
