I signed up for caucus and to be a delegate at the Ward 3 and City conventions. grumble grumble grumble civic duty grumble grumble

I would like historian-of-memes @aidanwalker.bsky.social to see this, because my gut reaction is it's a pretty excellent use of the form.

:headdesk:

I went to one of the mayoral candidates' Sunday coffeehouse meet&greets today. Dunno whether/how I want to get involved. I got kinda burned out on local politics in recent years. I feel like exposure is what matters. A challenger needs to somehow become a household name.

🧐

Done, albeit with borrowed clip art. Not a bot.

we are all going to die

This did not age well.

I was successfully trolled, by a screenshot from the most recent of the articles under discussion here. The story may be far-from-inaccurate! But after seeing Aaron's comments and thinking about it, I'm taking with more than a grain of salt. FWIW.

Oh hey fellow journalists who don’t want to be imprisoned in Guantanamo

"the high cost of free parking" is a book that legit rewired my brain. RIP to a great scholar

Trying to find some kind of synthesis between Stancil and this individual, whose thread here is making me think.

🇨🇦🐸: "But why did you sting me?" Cried the Canadian frog, as they both sank beneath the waves. 🇺🇸🦂: "Price of eggs! Fentanyl! You're the 51st state LOL! I could invade you ha ha!" 🇨🇦🐸: That... makes no sense. 🇺🇸🦂: *stings again* 🇨🇦🐸: Dude! Will you stop?! 🇺🇸🦂: *stings* *stings* *stings*

If you wanted no leaks you should have gone into Settings -> Security -> Configure privacy & security -> Privacy options -> Other -> Configure -> Media interface and clicked “Disallow.” The Leak setting is on by default but we understand your privacy is important so we’ve made it easy to opt out

For ease, just add our senators’ DC office numbers to your phone as contacts: Smith - (202) 224-5641 Klobuchar - (202) 224-3244

Allen Sanderson is best known for his remark, "If you want to inject money into the local economy, it would be better to drop it from a helicopter than invest it in a new ballpark," but he should be remembered for much more.

Ask me abutting: when contacting Senators, how often are they given my comments? youtu.be/WEZKYtPr4xU?...

The 2017 glossy propaganda book "Minneapolis at 150 years" is making false claims. Kitty Litter was invented by St Paul native Edward Lowe in 1947, when he had already moved to Cassopolis, Michigan. Nothing whatsoever to do with Minneapolis.

“You won’t believe what horrible thing the president just did” literally checks all four boxes for virality. “Listen to our plan to cut grocery prices” checks one (or none, if you’ve heard this before).

I'm really not looking forward to a Timberwolves/Lynx funding fight. Particularly not near a future LRT stop.

I don't know why y'all are reacting with such vigor, I'm clearly only talking about card suits. I mean I have ADHD and this was CLEARLY just an accident that people happened to interpret to mean something other than just card suits.

Proof that Jonathan Greenblatt isn't incapable of condemning Nazi salutes. He's just currently choosing not to.

Apropos of nothing, I just remembered I watched the movie version of this Ionesco play on cable TV. This was 40-plus years ago when I was in my early teens. Although I found it bewildering, I think I understood it at some basic level. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhinoce...

I did this and got credits. Used one of them on @swordsjew.bsky.social Talia Lavin's Wild Faith, and I am immediately liking it. The author's narration is both matter-of-fact and--for lack of a better word--friendly, so that it keeps me listening no matter how harrowing the subject matter.

Surprisingly evocative! I do want to comment: Of course, if we had walkable cities, we'd be less in need of a raptor's survival skills to get where we want to go.

A surprisingly decent thing to do for a not great company.

Part of a long article about local races across the country. Fateh is the only challenger mentioned.

She's from here. Normally that doesn't matter, and/or it can be a minus.....but this year, it makes for a contrast with the incumbent, who used to use the hashtag "A Great City Rises." I always heard insulting connotations in that phrase.
