That first level on hard is *terrible* and it's coming from someone who always chose the hardest difficulty in RE games.
I think SotE is overrated. I liked the base game way more. It has more diverse areas with better, more interesting characters. And the progression system is terribly designed.

I want to point out my "bad" tier is subjective and is only my personal experience. Shadows of Doubt was buggy, I only played 4 hours of Identity V, and RE8's first level on the hardest difficulty was frustrating.
But I wouldn't say they are critically bad (except Soinc '06 lol)

Davinci Resolve is what I use and it's totally free. There's a paid version but you don't need it at all.
