Wakanda Forever broke my streak of seeing MCU films in the theater. Since then, I've only seen GotG 3 and Deadpool 3 in the theater. The films have just become so watered down, reliant upon nostalgia, and just don't want to take any chances. It sounds like Captain America BNW is in the same boat.

It's difficult for me to reconcile how I feel about my work with how I feel about the US and the world right now. The system I'm in pushes me to make my rent and pay my bills. I've worked so intensely on this game (and in general), but it's hard to do my happy little social media dance right now.

I just caught the old TNG episode The Outcast again and now I'm bawling. It's amazing that an episode of network television tackled the topic of gender and conversion therapy more than 30 years ago and did it so gracefully and with such heart.

Sorry to hear that Tom Robbins died. He was a big part of my non-scifi reading in my early 20s and Still Life With Woodpecker was especially important to me. I hadn't followed his later career or read his book in ages, but so much of Still Life has stayed with me.

There's a scene toward the end of Companion where a character looks at themselves in the shower and there's this beautiful moment of recognition and self-acceptance. It actually made me tear up. Good movie. Check it.
