It was an honor to join City Councilmen Nick Howland, Rahman Johnson, and the Chappell family to dedicate a historic marker to Johnnie Mae Chappell. She was a mother of 10 who was shot and killed on the evening of March 23, 1964 for no other reason than the color of her skin. (1/2)
