I finished the novella. It came straight from the heart quite unexpectedly. I'll probably be told that novellas don't sell. But it's one of the best things I've ever written. What say you, #agents and #publishers? #novella #novelist #writingcommunity #creativework #writer

I've discovered that I live on exactly the same spot as writer #GeraldBasilEdwards who wrote #TheBookOfEbenezerPage . He died here in 1976. His book was championed by #ProfessorEdwardChaney after his death, and was published by #HamishHamilton. Thanks to #DrTonyShaw, see his tonyshaw3.blogspot.com

A walk in the rain. Enjoyed it, but what bothers me is that one boot is wet and the other dry. Do I walk on a tilt? Did my left side somehow go walkabout on its own? Life's little unanswerable conundrums.

Something to cheer up these grey and foggy days.

Come along.

The Papua New Guinea Courier is in rare form.

Dear #BookSky, #Booktok, readers, et al, Buying an author's work is nice. Welcome, even. But telling them how much you enjoyed it, or leaving a kind review? That keeps an author going far more than the pittance they get from royalties. Signed, A Struggling Indie Author

Brilliant satirical cover from Private Eye, mocking spineless media organisations and journalists who submit and cower in the face of power 👏

😉😉😉

Goodnight. Sweet dreams. As sweet as a bee, heavy with pollen, intent on making honey.

To me the cool thing about this image is that the sprinkling of blue stars are in the foreground, some 5 million light years away, while all those gorgeous colorful swirly galaxies are almost unimaginably more distant, out in the far depths of the cosmos. More info: www.stsci.edu/contents/med...

Goodnight, sweet dreams. And may the road ahead of you tomorrow be lit by unexpected moments of joy.

Something lovely for the weekend! A very good boy! 🐾🐕😍 An amazing c. 3,400 year-old ancient Egyptian dog carved from ivory. This leaping hunting dog opens and closes its mouth, as if barking, by using a lever below its chest. 📷 by me #Archaeology

Goodnight. May you sleep like a doggy who had a good day.

Goodnight all. Wishing you the peaceful dreams of a calm, sunlit sea.

I'm posting books that have influenced me over the years. Here's the incomparable #OliverSacks. His investigations and perceptions are amazing. I've never forgotten his other work too, The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat. After reading his work on #synaesthesia, I wrote #OutOfReach.

Having dodgy whining shoulders comes in handy. 4 hours driving yesterday, taking down xmas decs today and polishing away several weeks of dust, and the right shoulder squeaks STOP. So. Coffee and a book. #12thnight #coffeeandabook

Laughter is the best medicine…if you LIKE IT give it 💙and plz RP😘😘 #Funny

May your sleep bring you to a beautiful morning. Goodnight.

Happy new year everyone. May it bring you peace and happiness

1500 words today, and a walk in the foggy dark. That'll do me. Now for a curry.

An ancient and magical amber bear. Carved some 10,000 years ago, it washed up on a beach at Fanø in Denmark from a submerged Mesolithic settlement under the North Sea. ✨Merry Christmas everyone✨ National Museum of Denmark 📷 by me #Archaeology

On this foggy winter's night may your dreams lead you down a starlit path. Goodnight.

Every #writer looking for their book in the 'best of 2024' lists

Here in the depths of winter, may you sleep tonight in sun-warmed woods on a summer evening. Goodnight.

Happy Christmas everyone. Carry peace in your heart. Spread a little joy. You are enough.
