Also I think we’re in for a fantastic serviceberry crop this year 😊

didn’t we used to have a word for this

A sheriff in Mississippi, the highest paid and most powerful public figure in his county, staffed his mother’s commercial chicken farm with inmates from the local jail and used taxpayer-purchased equipment to improve it, an investigation by The New York Times and Mississippi Today found.

“Recently I took a friend with only a high school degree to lunch. Insensitively, I led her into a gourmet sandwich shop. Suddenly I saw her face freeze up as she was confronted with sandwiches named “Padrino” and “Pomodoro” and ingredients like soppressata, capicollo and a striata baguette.”

Hey Bluesky, I have a friend in Atlanta who is on the verge of being homeless and I was wondering if there are any resources out there available to keep him from having to go to a men's shelter?

Cops have charged recidivist scofflaw Miriam Yarimi with manslaughter among other counts stemming from the repeatedly reckless driver's decision to run a red light at high speed on Ocean Parkway on Sunday, killing a mother and her two children.

Hey New York Times and Mayor Adams: in what world is a speeding driver with a suspended license killing three people an ACCIDENT? It's not an "accident," it's a result of terrible choices made by her and the political system that allows her to keep driving: www.nytimes.com/2025/03/29/n...

The dogwoods are really putting it on this year y’all

This isn’t really the prompt but I’ve learned recently how much I despise Def Leppard. Their songs make me cry in the most uninteresting way.

I am officially going on record as anti these histamines

Sgt Prepper

Live music guy is playing a Jack Johnson-ified version of the Beatles’ Don’t Let Me Down and I’m really trying to remain calm

idk who did this but ilu

I have it in orange. This is important history, y’all

"Removing improper ideology" doesn't sound at all Soviet or Orwellian. It's exactly the sort of thing a country with "a history of liberty" (as this EO says elsewhere) would do to celebrate the freedoms that have made it great.

hard to see the irony considering new york city was the global hub for slave trading. how do you think that city got to be that way? because of the weather??

He’s behind me isn’t he

Every time I start a new OOTP game the first thing I do is change the name to “Hammers”

How would @edsbs.bsky.social fix Atlanta? There’s no escaping many of the allegations we’d like to dodge about our city. But at the very least, we should change the name of our baseball team. It's time to rebrand the Braves—immediately and forever. how-id-fix-atlanta.ghost.io/how-spencer-...

Consider this. 6 people in plainclothes approach you, and begin to cover their faces. At least one appears armed. As they grab your phone and backpack, they do not prove who they are. They say they're going to take you, but they're not saying why. What would you call that?

This and more of it

Pete Hegseth is not up to the task of keeping Georgia safe. He must resign.

They also announced that they are ending the non-permanent resident ability to secure an FHA loan starting May 25th. These decisions are designed to chill those attempting to secure their part of the American Dream. Roadblocks are not new. Find a way or make one. We got this.

Cooking dinner with my wife is probably my favorite thing, if we’re being honest

“The White House can pretend all it likes that this isn’t a big deal. But more people appear to believe it’s a big deal than all of these other recent big-deal controversies. And that makes it harder to play off and move past without accountability.” www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

James May, former host of [checks notes] Top Gear, welcome to The War on Cars.

If only Major League Baseball had some sort of formal mechanism which encouraged the hiring of people who aren't white men maybe this could be remedied. A pipeline of sorts that is designed to increase diversity among the league's workforce. Oh well!

What Jazz Chisholm says here is what I learned while writing "Our Team": those "unwritten rules" were devised during a time when the Major and Negro Leagues had different ideas of how baseball should be played and what sort of emotions were acceptable on the field. www.nytimes.com/athletic/623...

holy shit. families for safe streets just passed the nation’s first law requiring repeat reckless drivers get automated speed limiters installed on their cars. (real quick, let’s talk about why this is a game changer…)

Pete Hegseth is a f*cking liar. This is so clearly classified info he recklessly leaked that could’ve gotten our pilots killed. He needs to resign in disgrace immediately.

As ICE continues to make arrests in Atlanta, the ICE Chasers program forms rapid response teams to inform communities of threats in real-time. atlpresscollective.com/2025/03/11/m...

Spotted today in Downtown: pedestrians crossing at 225 Peachtree, where there's a huge need for a crosswalk. A man was killed while crossing here several weeks ago. In 2021 this was the site of the Shared Space project, improving pedestrian safety. The project was terminated by Mayor Dickens. 1/2
