Regardless of whether you support increasing defence spending, this - and indeed any policy - should never be paid for by the poorest, either in the UK or overseas. This is a political choice, not a necessity, and it is the wrong one.

This #HolocaustMemorialDay marks 80 years since Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated, a place representing the very worst of humanity. Over 1.1 million Jewish people were murdered there, alongside Roma, LGBTQ+ and disabled people, as well as other victims of Nazi persecution.
