Since no one asked, here’s some #RealHousewives style taglines for researchers. Quote/Reply w yours “I collect data, run analyses, and always control for drama.” “Research is my job, but proving you wrong is my passion.” “My receipts aren’t just gossip, they’re peer-reviewed.” #Research #Academia

Dear Dept Head, My accomplishments last week are: There's only 1. thing 2. do 3. words 4. you

I’m grateful to work for an organization that prioritizes science and data, community engagement, and reaching all those impacted by suicide. “AFSP’s mission demands we approach the prevention of suicide by focusing on a wide diversity of populations.” afsp.org/story/stayin...

Happy to report that APA wrote this letter, gathered a coalition across science, and will now pay for ads for it to be disseminated in Science and Chronicle of Higher Ed to spread the word!! unitedsciencealliance.org

In Ep. 142 @annamueller.bsky.social highlights three social roots of youth suicide - academic pressure, mental health stigma, and (perhaps surprisingly) social connectedness. We talk about these systemic challenges and what we can do about them in schools. cc: @sethabrutyn.bsky.social

As the year ends, I’m filled with gratitude for the incredible opportunities and connections 2024 brought my way. From career milestones to cherished moments with loved ones and adventures in new places, it’s been a year to remember. Wishing everyone a joyful holiday season!
